Albert Tatlock
I am glad the boiiiiinng is also on the alternative version of Far Far Away, which I may like better because of the mandolin (or whatever it is).
anthony
Hey guys: I really like the bonus disk.
uncool2pillow
Some interesting versions of previously released songs. The alternate of I Got You definitely dragged a bit in tempo and was robotic in rhythm. Otherwise, I thought they were all strong. The party horn End of the Century was a real rocker, of course. The Inside of Outside
I am liking it much more than I expected. Love Out of Sight, Out of Mind, Losing Interest, Why Would You Wanna Live, and I Can't Keep From Talking.

Sir Stewart
I didn't expect ol' Capitol City to be so fully formed.
Tweedling
Capital City has blown me away. I love it. Jeff’s voice, the change in lyrics, the solo guitar. I long for that era of Wilco.

I love this original version too. The foundation of the lyrics are there, but clearly not fully formed yet. But pretty damn good as-is. It's amazing to me that the band passed on this song for so long...or maybe Jeff quit pitching it after it didn't make it to Being There until he found the "right" album for it. Mr. Heartbreak
I'm pretty happy with this deluxe box, though I have to say I was somewhat underwhelmed by the A.M. re-release. With just 8 bonus tracks, it was difficult to justify buying it again to myself once I heard them. I could have lived without what I'm calling the "heavy metal" version of Lost Love, and Blue Mountain did Myrna Lee so much better, I can't even give John's demo a fair listen. It's cool to have Piss It Away and Hesitation Rocks in good quality for once, though. The Being There box, of course, has much more to offer, so it's kind of hard to compare. I'm mostly just happy to have the Troubadour show in good quality, although what I'd had all these years was already an excellent soundboard. I was surprised to learn that Reprise had put it out previously. It must have gone out of print quickly. Just a great rocking show. My only complaints about the Being There release are that 1) some of the tracking choices are a little odd - like starting Disc 5 with Outtasite - although that may have been due to space limitations, and 2) the package itself is really cheaply made/flimsy. I get that they want to avoid plastic, but I feel like I'd better not open and close this thing more than a couple times. Overall, I'm still really pleased they did this. As others have posted, if they continue the trend with S/T & YHF, I'm in.
