uncool2pillow
Jason Narucy, Chicago musician (his own current band is called Split Single and he is the current bassist for Bob Mould and Superchunk) had a musical based on his teenage punk band Verboten at the House Theatre of Chicago. I was hoping to get there to see it. Obviously, that's not happening, but they did make a stream available for a pay as you wish ticket (min. $15). I just bought mine after being reminded that this is the last day tickets are available. You have one week after your purchase to view it. Here's the Chicago Tribune review: https://www.chicagotribune.com/entertainment/theater/reviews/ct-ent-verboten-punk-house-review-0130-20200129-2nfujsvnnneivlbdv4fvlxwblm-story.html Here's the link to buy a ticket: https://thehousetheatre.secure.force.com/ticket/#/instances/a0F6g000000sGpMEAU

bcdoc
If you have yet to catch the Freddie Mercury show from 1992, you have until tonight (May 17). They will stop streaming it. The Bowie/Annie Lennox version of “Under Pressure” is terrific. https://youtu.be/PN7oGo6qlMA

brownie
Great stream last night by Dean & Britta from their L.A. home. Nowhere near the same experience I was looking forward to live in Jersey City four weeks from now, but the best that can be done under the circumstances. They charged $10 and it was well worth it. I worry about how artists at this level are going to support themselves.
theashtraysays
Transitioning into the "pay per view" version of this a little bit nowadays. Andrew Bird a couple weeks ago...Lucero last weekend...GBV today!!Probably Yo La Tengo this weekendKen Stringfellow and another round of ABird next weekend. Cheap, entertaining, and hopefully kicks a few coins to the ones we miss a lot.
