i think it has also been played with the capo on 2, using a C, G, F progression....

 

you can play like this along to the album version and it sounds great in my opinion

 

also, very first chord of the song, when played with the capo on 2 has a g in the bass

so......

B -1-

G -0-

D -2-

A -3-

E -3-

the little filler riff in between parst he does a little ditty with the d chord

just hold your fingers in the position of a d chord and slowly deconstruct it.

To make it sound even more cool, detune that open G note at the end - you can use a Whammy bar, bend the neck, or if you're especially talented, use the G-string tuning peg to tune it down, and then back up for the correct pitch.
