  1. Sorry, but I dont understand how you could say M83 isnt modern day shoegaze, but then throw down Boards of Canada (which isnt even anywhere close to the genre).
  2. Ride- Nowhere The Verve- A Storm in Heaven (sooo much better than that overrared piece of crap Urban Hymns)
  3. well, if i cant get 1 lawn seat, it seems to me its sold out.
  4. i tried to get 1 fricking lawn seat...no dice. oh well, its probably for the better. its gonna be chaos down there. i got to see them 2nd row at the aud theater in '03, nothing could match that for me anyway. and f*ck brokers. there has got to be a better way to do this. i like the all will call idea.
  5. right, so that means 90% are up for sale on saturday. i mean, i think chances are pretty decent you can snag something through ticketbastard.
  6. so I'm lost. only 10% of tickets have been sold, correct?
  7. I would agree. However, I don't think the demand was as great.
  8. the sound is crystal, so you dont have to worry about that. but the stage mite as well be in iowa. really no chance of seeing it.
  9. when i went to college, my mom found some place that sold individual packets of laundry detergent...there was a huge box of them that she picked up in bulk that lasted me my entire time in the dorms. but anyways, it was a lot easier walking down the 5 flights of stairs to the laundry room with just a little packet for my load rather than a huge container (wish i could remember where she picked them up at) rugs are a must too, esp in the winter (i bought one off a guy who had lived in the residence hall before me. but he had cut a huge sheet so that it went from wall to wall and even was cut
  10. yea, you're lucky if you can even see the stage, much less the artists. good thing the sound is good. do you know if they allow you to bring outside drinks/picnics in for paid shows?
  11. Come now, you're just going to give a "whatever" to one of the most influential groups of all time? I understand some arent down with the hipitty hop, but still.
  12. Found some clips of the Field...I just didnt want it to end... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pFNLdSShmp4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C02HONKmpqM
  13. If Neko Case had been there I think it would have been unmissable. To be honest, I had intended on seeing them, but the mini stage was running about a 1/2 hr-40 minutes behind, so by the time the Field ended, their set was already pretty far in. And I was only there on Sunday, so I didnt catch any of the Friday stuff.
  14. See, I've always seen them as all style and no substance. I guess I just don't "get" it. I also don't get the hype for the Klaxons. I was going to stick around for them after seeing the Field, but it took an absolute eternity for their sound check, not to mention it got extremely claustrophobic over by the mini stage after the Field ended. So after waiting around 40 minutes, I ditched in time to catch De La Soul take the stage. Glad I did.
  15. Day 3 (I'm tired and have to wake up early, so this is brief)... Well, the one stage was having major sound issues, that pretty much ruined the entire Pony's set. It was cropping up again during the Junior Boys. Basically the entire left side was cutting out. So that was very shitty and aggravating. (Actually the sound as a whole on all the stages was somewhat questionable). With that said.. The Junior Boys are fricking amazing live, despite all the sound issues. I really wanted their set to last all afternoon. Just incredible. Definitely the highlight for me. The Sea and Cake- another e
  16. I have so many favs...Blue Line Swinger, I Heard You Looking, From a Motel Six, Tom Courtenay...all brilliant
  17. i agree with possibly not...a TON of development and improvements have taken place the past decade. hell, the south loop didnt even really exist a few years ago...
  18. A Storm In Heaven is criminally overlooked shoegaze goodness. Urban Hymns is rubbish.
  19. Saw it today. I really didnt know anything about it going in except it was music oriented and semi-romantic. Surprised me in a good way. Perfect running time as well.
  20. yea, well thats one of the crappy parts about going to fests with other people. everyone wants to do something different, and unfortunately i lost out (all so that we could get good spots for the chili peppers...... )
  21. i know its a generalization, but its pretty amazing how the civil war is still going on in parts of the south, at least in their minds.
