  1. Let Ganstarr break it down for you
  2. I'd rather spend $40 instead and go to three days of Pitchfork
  3. sorry. the appeal of this album escapes me. but then again, im a huge ambient head and people call me crazy that i dig drones fading in and out for 20 minutes. so to each their own.
  4. The title track.. PJ Soles (she appears on the inside cover of the album as well)
  5. Gotta get with the program..they've consistently been putting out solid albums for the past 10 years or so. For example: What Would You Have Me Do? Manifest Destiny Pt.2 They know the meaning of the word "epic".
  6. Gotca. Was that when they were touring behind "here comes the zoo?" Thats the last time i remember them having a "full" band at this point im just going to cross my fingers and hope I can snag a single ticket for the Pack Up The Cats show.
  7. 7 day passes sold out in under 20 seconds, and I wasnt a lucky one...fuck.

  10. Yea, I know the feeling of hard drive failure and losing your entire music collection. Its like someone ripping out your soul. Can never be to careful... Vinyl's nice and as far as hard copies go (if not pricey), and I'd much rather have that. CDs are relatively pointless to me, with the exception of getting the artwork.
  11. Im perfectly capable of separating background from music... still not drinking the cool aid. I spun the disc 3 or 4 times and that was enough. Look, I'm not saying its awful. Im saying its woefully average and pedestrian. If I need an album to throw on while I've got a ton of people over on my porch and theres some bratwurst on the grill, then I mite reach for this album (although in truth I'd just rather listen to the Sea and Cake in that situation instead). But it is not deserving of the rave writeups its getting.
  12. My point is just that I dont understand why the indie media decided to go ga-ga over these guys, when theres really nothing special or noteworthy about them or the music. And yes, the whole privileged east coast prep school upbringing coupled with the linen pants/rope belt getup, while banging on bongos and singing about Oxford commas and mansard roofs makes me want to puke. Sorry.
  13. I really dont understand the hype around these guys. If find them boring and derivative, and will probably be forgotten in under 2 years.
  14. Hell Yes. http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/article/news...h-american-tour Digging the new single too. Epic stuff
  15. I always find it amusing that religious types are quick to call something out of the mainstream a cult and bizarre. Yea, and believing that you're eating a 2,000 year old dead guys flesh and drinking his blood isnt bizarre either.
  16. Sound of Silver would definitely jump in there somewhere
  17. I have the PX100s, which at least this guy seems to prefer to the 200s and 250s. I cant vouch b/c I havent tried the other 2, but I can say the 100s are an incredible product for the price (although not noise canceling).
  18. I saw Control last nite....awww man soo good. Depressing, but damn good. Think it just captured my #1 spot for the year.
  19. No melodies?! Did you even listen to the record? This thing is DRIPPING with melodies. The whole album sounds like some half-forgotten childhood summer.
