I watched some of the free Deadco stream and various clips from the tour and while it's not terrible, I find that it lacks energy. I also think Mayer was mixed way too loud in the streams and he has a tendency to over-play. And while oteil is a fine bass player, I miss what Phil brings to the table. Probably a fun night out but ultimately empty musical calories

I had to give a eulogy for a too soon departed friend yesterday and it was a really nice to have the show to listen to on my drive. and my favorite quote from jeff was via his 83 year old father: "Don't let that monster make you fuckin' sick." see you all in North Adams

if you didn't have Chuck you were out of luck. in my opinion Jerry Garcia and Keith Richards (who I happened to see back to back in Buffalo in September, 81) were his greatest disciples. was hoping Wilco would pull a chuck tune out their hat saturday but it wasn't meant to be although Jeff did mention it from the stage .

thanks for posting the Impossible Germany and as crazy good as that solo was it was only one of 6 or 7 that were completely over the top last night. hope they roadcase this one but I know the beacon has union issues$$$ which usually prevent bands from selling their shows after the fact

agreed. nels took 5 or 6 of the greatest guitar solos I ever heard and I saw jerry garcia close to 200 times. great to see a band at the height of their powers in a theatre

I'll check it out and I've had many memorable nights at the beacon over the years. just got kind of spoiled by the cap I guess., however, one of main beefs with the beacon is that there probably won't be any road cases as its a notoriously expensive room due to union rules.

so to follow up I called tm today and they tried to blame it on the band, which I find hard to believe. tried to get me to use tm to re-sell my extras which of course includes a service charge for tm. think its a big scam but have decided to just enter the beacon with my buyers and then according to tm, once you enter the venue they print out a paper ticket. I really hope Wilco avoids the Beacon from now on. much prefer the Cap. also don't think they will be able to Roadcase the Beacon due to union rules and of course the owner Dolan is a big turd so there's that but it will all be forgo
