  1. There were plenty of people in appropriate positions (CIA, etc.) who knew that what the Bush administration was trumpeting as the great Iraqi threat was complete and utter bullshit. Bush & Co. simply chose not to listen to those people. They'd had the Iraq invasion on their agenda for years already before Bush was installed in the White House. ...or they should have voted no. That's what I blame the Democrats for. What's more important -- saving the country from a disastrous, unnecessary war, or getting re-elected? Most of them chose the latter. Granted, the administration was filling
  2. Hitler: Bloodthirsty Dictator, Die-hard Cowboys Fan
  3. My freshman year roommate had that record. Well ... he didn't have it until sophomore year, but he was my freshman year room oh never mind.
  4. Yeah, I think there was one too. Maybe someone deleted it. Regardless, I sure as hell couldn't find it.
  5. The Chargers hit it last week. Against the Patriots, even.
  6. When I lived in London I adopted Queens Park Rangers as my side for no particular reason (probably because I knew how to get to their grounds on the Tube). They were pretty terrible, as I recall. This was in the pre-Premier League days. Since then I've not really had a favorite European side. I just enjoy watching the matches when I get a chance. I also saw matches at Wimbledon and Arsenal. I kept meaning to get to Chelsea, Tottenham, and West Ham but never did. I grew up watching Soccer Made In Germany on PBS with Toby Charles as the announcer, so I have fond memories of the likes of FC
  7. He hasn't earned a chance. He was never qualified to be president in the first place, and his administration has done one disastrous thing after another. I read plenty about that prick. I just don't want to see his face or hear his voice.
  8. OK mister smartypants, see if you can find that thread. (I couldn't)
  9. Damn. I didn't know there were different versions.
  10. Tampa Bay Rowdies? (When he was in the U.S., obviously) More importantly, does anyone remember Arno Steffenhagen? (I was a Chicago Sting fan.)
  11. I have that box set. It's as awesome as you might imagine.
  12. I took it last spring(?). I received a message a while later inviting me to a contestant audition in Chicago, which consisted of a written test followed by a simulated game of Jeopardy with the other people in my session (there were about 20 of us, I think). I'm now in the contestant pool, and with luck I'll get the call to go to L.A. to be on the show. If that doesn't happen before my time in the pool expires, I'll just take the online test again sometime in the future. I think it was MJHutch(?) who first talked about qualifying for the show. I don't recall if he actually appeared on
  13. I've spent the last seven years avoiding that man's voice and visage, and I'm damn sure not going to make an exception tonight. I cannot stand the sound of his voice. I look forward to never having to hear it again.
  14. Aren't there about ninety-seven "alternate" versions of Mr. Soul?
  15. I'm sure there will be "unofficial" CD rips of it floating around ... don't worry. In the meantime, you can hook most DVD players up to stereos, y'know? The one I have plays eleventy-four different formats and I use it as a CD player more than anything.
  16. "Sausages! Sausages! Sausages! Sausages! Sausages!"
  17. Weren't we all supposed to keep that story a secret? (It even got edited out of the recording.) Interesting that he's now told it in a less controlled setting.
  18. I've championed this song here before, and now I'll do it again. It really doesn't get any better than this. ...though comes close.
  19. Well, it is in the detention block. Alternate response: Why do you think Darth Vader wears that mask all the time?
  20. What?!? You know, this internet thing you're on is full of information. Why don't you search for some, instead of saying something stupid like this? Clinton's father was a traveling salesman and died before Bill was born. Clinton's stepfather was an abusive alcoholic.
  21. Myth. It's actually not good to pee on a jellyfish sting.
  22. Haven't seen that one. For the record, I've peed in a gym shower.
