  1. I've said this before in another thread, but seeing how the album was recorded in January 1990, it would have been extraordinarily difficult for it to get released in 1989. (Unless you're talking about their demo -- Not Forever, Just For Now -- which was a self-released cassette.)
  2. Those are all excellent choices. I voted for the R.E.M. To me, the quintessential college radio band was Robyn Hitchcock & The Egyptians. I'm not saying they were the ultimate college rock band ... just that when I listened to the local college radio station (WIDR at Western Michigan University) when I was in high school, it was Hitchcock that I remember hearing more than any other artist.
  3. Didn't watch last night. Saw the last minute or so before 30 Rock started, and wasn't sorry that I'd missed the rest of the episode. I still love 30 Rock, but so far this season hasn't been up to its usual standard. Community is still holding my attention.
  4. I know this thread is about blasphemy and all, but sorry, I just can't get past this. This isn't just blasphemy -- it's insanity.
  5. Then go with Nigella Lawson, Giada DeLaurentis ... anyone but that screaming fuckwad.
  6. Hard to choose, but here are the first five I thought of... Alyssa Milano Padma Lakshmi Cat Deeley Jill Wagner Jenna Fischer
  7. What other revenue is there, really? This is turning out to be a disaster for NBC. Leno's a hell of a nice guy, but as a television host, I didn't like him at 11:30, and I still don't like him at 10. NBC will likely give him a couple more years to see if his ratings ever pick up (doesn't anyone remember Conan's ratings when he first started?). If they don't, they'll ease him out, nicely. He's done a lot of NBC, but loyalty isn't as important as ratings. And it's not like Jay needs the money ... he'll retire and dick around with his cars and be perfectly happy. He turns 60 next year, so it's
  8. That's your opinion, but technically, it's not a state. Ergo, there is no constitutional issue.
  9. The U.N. is not a "king, prince, or foreign state."
  10. This is just how I feel about it right now. Ask me again after lunch and I'll come up with a completely different list. Scud Mountain Boys - Massachusetts The Rolling Stones - Exile On Main St. Spoon - A Series Of Sneaks The Clash - London Calling Centro-matic - Fort Recovery
  11. I'd love to hear them do "Powderfinger." And for some reason, "Pardon My Heart."
  12. Looks like it holds about 1500 CDs.
  13. That doesn't keep him from sucking. (In my opinion, of course)
  14. The Aerosmith public relations train just keeps on rollin'... They've probably been in the studio working on a new album this whole time.
  15. Holy crap. And WTF? http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/soccer/11/10/robert.enke.ap/index.html Germany GK Enke dies at 32 in apparent suicide FRANKFURT, Germany (AP) -- Robert Enke, the Hannover and Germany goalkeeper, killed himself by apparently intentionally getting hit by a train on Tuesday. He was 32. "It was suicide," Enke's agent Joerg Neblung said. "I don't want to talk about the possible reasons today." Police said Enke died after being hit by a train at a level crossing northwest of Hannover, not far from his home. Enke's car was found near the scene, unlocked, with his
  16. True, but I think he'll catch a break when the assistant provides proof that it was the photographer who killed those women. The assistant was just disposing of the bodies for his boss (what's an assistant for, anyway?). Now that the photographer has disappeared, the assistant will probably figure that his boss has fled the country, so he'll tell the cops everything. This close call will let Dexter off the hook as far as his "code," but serve as a warning that he needs to be more diligent in his research for future killings.
  17. This reminds me that I should probably close my eyes when I go under bridges.
  18. Yeah, I was just coming back to this thread to post "Cheap Trick!"
  19. I think it's for Dexter. But somehow, Trinity will end up in it. I still want to believe that it was Anton who shot Deb and Lundy, but I figure they probably would have had him make an appearance or two in the last couple of episodes if they were going to eventually reveal him as the shooter, so now I'm losing my confidence that it was him.
  20. U2's been around for more than 30 years now. Their debut album will turn 30 next October.
