That and his self-titled album are essential, in my opinion.

Food question for the Chicago Natives

Just for the record, it's giardiniera. -
I'll play too. If we assume (I will, anyway) that we need to cut five songs to achieve the single-album masterpiece, here are my choices: Hotel Arizona Outta Mind (Outta Sight) Kingpin (Was I) In Your Dreams Why Would You Wanna Live Some (but not all) of those pain me, but if I was tasked with making these cuts, that's how I'd do it.

It's called being a sports fan. You should try it sometime. Oh. My. God.
-
Considering that the whole album already fits on a single disc, I wouldn't cut a thing.

Fuck the Yankees. I hope they now lose three straight and A-Rod's head explodes. The Yankees are the earthly embodiment of pure evil. Whenever the Yankees win the World Series, it is as if Sauron has seized total control of Middle Earth.

Sigh.

I'm really sick of Rita ... wish Dexter had never married her.

I'd have to take the under on that one. Though a 24-point halftime lead is quite possible for that game, I'd never put money on it.

I think it was Anton who shot Deb and Lundy ... but maybe that's just what they want me to think. I expect Lundy to be dead by the start of the next episode ... he compiled so many notes on Trinity over the years, it'll give Deb and/or Dexter plenty to work from. Good episode, in my opinion. Despite what m_thomp said, I think there were plenty of elements that moved the story along: Dexter had the epiphany about his family, there were substantive advancements in tracking Trinity, and of course the shocker at the end. If there's one storyline that's not working for me right now, it's the An

I only saw the missed call on Napoli's double play at third base, but I gather that wasn't the only umpiring issue. On the double play (lack of) call, I don't understand why the home plate umpire didn't correct the third base umpire. There's no way the home plate ump didn't see the tag on the runner coming from second.

I'm not sure what his age has to do with it either.

I forgot to mention Weddings Parties Anything.

Jeffrey Tate? Isn't that the dude from Queensrÿche?

Speaking of bands from the southern hemisphere, I've long been a fan of Icecream Hands. It's a shame they never developed a following in North America.

WILCO - 10/19/09 UIC Pavilion, Chicago Night #2

Wish the Ann Arbor setlist had been more like this one. Wow. -
That's a great album. ^^ I love "I'll Stay." That slow groove is intoxicating.

I have Duende by Shrimp Boat and The Dumbest Magnets by Dolly Varden. Perhaps I ought to explore other corners of those bands' catalogs.

I loved the Sand Rubies, previously known as the Sidewinders. The self-titled Sand Rubies album is one I go back to again and again. I saw the Sand Rubies open for the Jayhawks on the Hollywood Town Hall tour in '93. By then I think they'd begun to unravel and had a replacement bassist and drummer, but they were still great. Their brief reunion in the late '90s produced another pretty respectable album. They put another record out in 2007, but I've neglected to pick it up so far (inspired by this thread, I'm now looking for ways to order it). Solid musicianship, including some serious Neil

Son Volt / Wilco / Uncle Tupelo It will never happen ... but what if it did? edit: another won't-ever-happen bill: Wilco / Ryan Adams & The Cardinals (or Whiskeytown, if they'd care to reunite)
-
Hadn't listened to this in a while. Far better than the typical reunion album -- fits in reasonably well with the rest of the band's catalog.

I saw Jeff Tweedy at the show on Friday.

Patriots win 45-0! What? It's only halftime?

Wait at least another week (as a courtesy to any tapers), then inquire in this forum.
