  1. In retrospect, I rather wish Brandon Marshall's Cutler-like hissyfit had landed him in Chicago, too.
  2. Yeah, the coaches can blow sunshine all they want, but that team needs some real receivers. Devin Hester is not the answer.
  3. You have such a closed mind on this that you'll only ever see your chosen reality. I honestly, 100%, without reservations, believe that Infernal Affairs is the superior film. It has nothing to do with seeming cool, and if you knew me, you'd understand how ludicrous the mere suggestion is. I'm far too old and far too disconnected from anything resembling popular culture to give the faintest fuck about how cool I seem, to anyone.
  4. Coverage sacks? Or just Cutler being a dumbass? I didn't see very much of the game ... and the stats obviously don't tell the whole story.
  5. Cutler was sacked four times yesterday, Anderson only once. Maybe the Bears should trade offensive lines with the Browns. It'd probably be an upgrade.
  6. You're right, of course. But it was still exposure for Dunham, which I could have done without.
  7. I suppose you're entitled to your opinions. However wrong they are.
  8. Working hard isn't the same thing as being funny. I'll even grant that the guy has talent. I just don't like his stuff.
  9. DiCaprio does alright, and I'd say he's above average, but he's not a favorite of mine. What I should have said was "I mean, come on, Mark fucking Wahlberg?" People who say The Departed is better than Infernal Affairs probably watched the dubbed version, and almost certainly watched the remake first. They probably also can't stand the thought that the mighty Martin Scorsese couldn't improve on the work of someone nobody in America's heard of. The story works better in the original, the acting is better, and I daresay the directing is better. The suspense is better rationed, and the whole p
  10. WTF is right. I was dismayed that he was featured on the last episode of "30 Rock." I just don't like the dude, or his humor.
  11. You're on crack. The characters were so much more richly inhabited by the actors in the original. I mean, come on, Leonardo fucking DiCaprio? Scorsese made an admirable remake, and it's a great film in its own right, but it pales next to the original.
  12. I'm not a voracious consumer of film, and I often see things many years after they are released, so my list of favorite films of the 2000s could be quite different in another few years ... but here are my choices, in no particular order. Kill Bill Infernal Affairs (the original and superior film that Scorsese remade as The Departed) Oldboy Kung Fu Hustle Milk No Country For Old Men City of God Ratatouille Hustle And Flow The Triplets of Belleville Sin City Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
  13. Emphasis mine. I hate that whole scene, personally, but I don't think members of the general public have enough info to make bold declarative statements about Jeff's feelings on the subject.
  14. I've listened to it five or six times over the last week.
  15. I guess I'm the Office naysayer these days. I thought it was weak. Not sure I can hang in with this show much longer.
  16. Godzilla attacks aren't covered on regular policies. You have to buy special Godzilla coverage, which can be expensive in large cities.
  17. They're pretty hostile to the gay community, from what I understand.
  18. I don't get too tied up in where the money goes, because I'd be twisting myself in knots. So much corporate money goes to so many organizations and/or causes I abhor. That said, I do make a point of never spending a dime on Dominos Pizza, partially because I don't particularly like their pizza, but mostly because their founder and subsequent corporate leaders, and by extension the company itself, are politically active in ways I don't wish to support.
  19. The last time I was a vegetarian, I missed Wendy's spicy chicken sandwiches more than bacon. And lots of other things too. Not that I don't looooooooove bacon ... it just didn't top my "miss" list at the time.
  20. Self-titled debut (1968). Truthfully, I've only heard it a few times, but it left an impression. "Open My Eyes" is really something. Their second could also be on this list:
