  1. I'm really astounded that no one else has mentioned the albums by Joe Henry and Superdrag.
  2. You go, Ken Williams. No, really. Go. Please. And I hate to say it, but maybe you should take Ozzie with you.
  3. The dude on the bottom must've drawn the short straw.
  4. My refutation of your theory...
  5. Interesting. But don't you think the whole "dream" scenario would be even more trite?
  6. All these months later, I still don't like the record very much. "One Wing" ranks with the best tracks in the Wilco catalog, but it can't save the album as a whole, which is otherwise littered with decent but not very good songs. And I still don't have a clue as to why everyone seems to love "Bull Black Nova." Tuneless, repetitive, and dull. I by far prefer SBS.
  7. 8. So, where does it go from here? I think the most intriguing question leading up to the next season is what Dexter decides to do. Does he: - Call 911, and subject himself to loads of suspicion, both as a potential suspect in Rita's murder, and as someone connected to the Trinity case (the cops are bound to make the connection based on the method of Rita's murder) - Cover up Rita's murder and create an alternate explanation for her disappearance - Stage a different scene for Rita's murder (i.e., not the bathtub) in an attempt to erase any connection to Trinity, then call 911 - Something
  9. If I recall correctly some stuff I read decades ago, the date of Christmas was deliberately timed to supplant pagan winter solstice celebrations.
  10. Hendrix on "Machine Gun" is definitely a contender. Good call.
  11. I sometimes forget how insanely talented that dude is. Thanks for the reminder.
  12. If I were to put two Wilco albums on my list of best albums of the decade, YHF and SBS would be the two. AGIB would NOT make it. So at least Rolling Stone got that part right. However, Kid A wouldn't have even made my list.
  13. Cool, I didn't know it'd come out already. I heard a while back that this was happening.
  14. For a coach at a university that clings desperately to its storied football history and its grandiose notions of its rightful place atop the national rankings, a .565 winning percentage is failure. Especially when they fired a guy with a .583 winning percentage to hire him.
  15. I don't see why not, but it might require some compiling during lulls.
  16. OK, this is an interesting concept for a thread, but it's not working very well, because people are unknowingly reinstating countries that were removed by others while they were formulating their own replies.
  17. I like the coda at first, but it degenerates into noise that sounds more like indecision than anything else. I do wish the W(TA) version didn't end so abruptly, but this particular ending isn't the answer either. Also: whoever did this video needs to be beaten with blunt instruments. Enough with the deliberately-out-of-focus crap already.
  18. Evidently, you've already been to most of the countries I've been to. I was only able to remove Slovenia and Croatia from what was left (and when I was there, they were still part of Yugoslavia). Afghanistan (316) Albania (97) Algeria (76) Andorra (94) Angola (53) Antartica Antigua and Barbuda (108) Armenia (218) Azerbaijan (127) Bahamas (1017) Bahrain (142) Bangladesh (475) Belarus (212) Benin (23) Bhutan (94) Bolivia (227) Bosnia and Herzegovina (215) Botswana (161) Brazil (3122) Brunei (233) Bulgaria (852) Burkina Faso (47) Burundi (36) Cambodia (348) Cameroon (67)
  19. Lovie's not going anywhere, and they wouldn't hire Weis as a head coach regardless.
  20. heh. Christ Turns Down 3-Year, Multimillion Dollar Deal To Coach Notre Dame December 5, 2009 | Issue 45•49 | Onion Sports SOUTH BEND, IN—Jesus Christ, the Son of God, Savior of All Mankind, and current defensive coordinator at Middle Tennessee State, said Monday that He would not accept Notre Dame's 3-year, $5.6 million offer to coach the Fighting Irish. "I love Notre Dame and respect their football legacy, but no matter what you've accomplished before coaching there, once you're a Golden Domer, the expectations, frankly, are unrealistic," said Christ, whose family has been involved with
  21. Someone with graphic design skillz could be useful in this regard. Know anyone?
