I can't listen at work ... but "Complicated Shadows" was on All This Useless Beauty in 1996. Is this a different song with the same name, or has it been drastically reworked in some way?

I loathe MySpace. If a band has the means to maintain their own site (or pay someone to do so), they should. In my opinion.

...and the Republicans would be welcoming their new colleague in exactly the same manner as the Democrats. You don't really have a point here. It's the pinnacle of hilarity that you seem to base your entire condemnation of Specter on a controversial commission report from forty-five years ago. I've not seen any mention of his Senate career in any of your screeds. As for the rubber-stamp Congress you keep alluding to, I'd say the lesson was learned -- namely, that rubber-stamping Bush's agenda was the wrong path to take. The practical antidote to that is to scrap the Bush agenda and try the

The joke's on Rondo. Miller has rabies.

While it's true that I haven't heard the new album yet, I feel fairly confident in presenting my updated ranking: AM BT ST YHF AGIB SBS WTA

That foul on Rondo should have been a flagrant.

The assumptive leaps being made here are astounding.

Great, you went and ruined the ending for me. -
DaimlerChrysler, despite the combined name, was a German company through 2007. Now Chrysler is owned by an American private equity firm, though Daimler continued to hold a minority stake, which they just recently decided to sell to the private equity firm (probably as part of the deal with Fiat).

And again I ask, weren't they already "gone" when Daimler AG owned them?

Were they "gone" when Daimler AG owned them?

It is, but it's a relatively recent arrival and I'm not sure how (or if) it fits into the hierarchy ... much like Hummer or Saturn at GM.

In terms of reputation, and probably quality, it's Cadillac > Buick > Chevrolet > Pontiac. I think Oldsmobile was to one side or the other of Chevy in that line. With Chrysler it was Chrysler > Dodge > Plymouth, and guess who's no longer around from that bunch...

Waiting on the Minnesota Supreme Court. As I see it, Specter's reported move, if it happens, pretty much guarantees that Coleman will appeal to SCOTUS as the GOP employs every desperate gambit it can to prevent the Dems from reaching 60 in the Senate. Maybe they'll finally convince Joe Lieberman to fully cross over to the dark side.

They built some classics back in the day, but has there been a Pontiac in the last thirty years that wasn't a piece of shit? They were GM's Plymouth.

What do you say to animals?

Their whole catalog makes me want to do that.

This is true of so much in life.

"Another One Bites The Dust" - Queen A bunch of crazies decided that the song title said "It's fun to smoke marijuana" when played backwards. Just one of many "backmasking" controversies stirred up by morons with nothing better to do than hunt for satanic/immoral messages in popular music.

I could certainly use a drink. I'm at work on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. OK, so would it be better in any way if they name the album Wilco VII?
-
Well, I'm speculating. So attribute that idea to me, not him.

I think we have somewhat different ideas of what "pretentious" actually means.
