  1. I have an HD DVD player and one of the best features was that there was no problem with DRM and it is region free, meaning if you got a foreign film it would play just fine. Kind of seems like something a movie player should do, IMO, since I'm buying it. Crazy thing that DRM.

  2. Do volume pedals give you an overdriven sound at a lower volume...like an attenuator? Or are they just foot controlled volume knobs?

Sorry, that's probably a dumb question, but I have no experience with volume pedals.

Just like the volume knob on your guitar, but with the foot.

  3. 1 -- you could get something like a Fender Pro Jr. and build a sound isolation box for it. That's one option.

2 -- You could build an isolation box for the bassman, but it would be really damn big

3 -- If your amp has an adjustable bias, you can have your amp biased much hotter, so it will breakup at lower volumes -- note that if it is biased too hot, you'll burn out tubes and possibly the amp.

4 -- Use an attenuator (as you suggested). They're used in studios all the time. Just do some research. Like with biasing, you can burn your amp up.

  4. Two of my best friends live in Ventura and in West Hollywood. The friend in WeHo and I do a lot of music stuff together, so ideally I'd be living close to there. There is that whole finding employment / having a job thing....

If you know of anyone that needs someone with a graphic design / journalism background...I'm your man :)

Get your Creep chops shined up!!

  5. I dropped a guitar off to have some work done on it today and my local shop (now) has a bunch of rather boutique amps. These included:

    Matchless

    65 Amps

    Bogner

    Divided by 13

I did not play any of them, but a guy was there playing a Bogner -- it sounded great. Anyone have any of these? The prices are totally outrageous and I wonder if they're worth it. For me, I question how different the amps are from, say Marshall or Fender. I guess you could make the same argument for guitars. hmm.....
