I went to both nights and I have to agree, the first night was just weird. The audience was all over the place in terms of behavior. Three guys next to me were actually there to see the show, the very young couple in front of me seemed to have gotten lost and stumbled in and decided to stay because they sold beer. They were horrendous. Thankfully they disappeared for great chunks of the night. Last night was, and I said this as I was walking out, as close to a perfect Wilco show as I've seen in a very long time. The people sitting near me all knew the songs, they were excited and danced

It took me about 30 minutes to get tickets for Atlanta, both nights, and they might be the worst seats I've ever gotten in a pre-sale. I'm glad that I was able to get any at all today, but I have to be honest. I hate the waiting room. It would have been nice to have a warning about it in the email updates. I've been very fortunate in the past when getting tickets, so I can't really bitch about that. I'm a little more concerned about the difference in price. The Ticketmaster says that tickets are $38 each before service charges. Front Gate is charging $40 each plus service charges. Why

Absolutely. It'll be up later today/tomorrow morning.

I was there for all but about ten minutes of the two and a half hour poster demo on Saturday. Pete, the guy that is Ghost Town (very nice guy, by the way, fun to talk to) didn't really have a clue how the posters were going to be sold or given away (I should add, he said that he wasn't told specifically). But, he was nice enough to give me and my boyfriend the first one (presumably for hanging out the whole time and asking questions and stuff). I never saw anyone else with one all weekend (and wasn't able to go back Sunday to see the second set of posters he was making.) The whole process

2 coming from Atlanta. We're staying at the Maple Terrace Motel in Williamstown.

Where in Georgia are you? I saw them two weeks ago at the Whole Foods in Toco Hills just near Decatur.

I went back and forth, thought about the Residency and how I would feel if I missed this and I just couldn't pass it up. I was able to get tickets for all 5 nights and make that trip work, this will be much easier, warmer AND my boyfriend was pushing me to go ahead and just make the decision to go. And it's our anniversary weekend, so we were planning on taking a vacation anyway. Sometimes things just work, I suppose. And I'm 30, I've been an adult for a little while anyway, and this kind of stuff continues to be exciting. The wisdom teeth are already grown in, they're not going anywhere

Okay, well, I did it. I booked a room for this place: http://www.mapleterrace.com. I just got off the phone from confirming my reservation and the lady I spoke with was super nice. Now I just have to get the tickets and airfare. Sometimes being an adult is fun!

I have no idea how I will begin to afford this. At what point is it ridiculous to do something like this while trying to pay off current debt? And budgeting to have your wisdom teeth removed?

I really considered emailing them to try and see if they could explain how the error happened, but I'm not convinced that it would do any good. One row isn't a big deal, it just doesn't make sense. I don't understand how an automated system that is supposed to pull up unique rows/seat numbers for each transaction could do this. Was there the possibility, if this was not caught, that we would end up at the show with other people in the seats we thought we had purchased? Like I said, I guess it doesn't even matter at this point. And how did they decide who got the real row CCC tickets? Ve
-
Yeah, the Fox's seating chart is a bit confusing. You have to change it to concert seating at the top of the site. The tickets I bought were row CCC in the orchestra pit, so being moved back one row to DDD in the same seat numbers isn't a big deal, really. I'm still really confused how it could have happened.
-
I got the following email from Front Gate Tickets today: "Dear Wilco Customer, Unfortunately there was an error on our end in naming the row you purchased for Wilco at the Fox Theatre on March 26th . We sincerely apologize for the error, your tickets have the same seat number(s) but are just one row behind what was listed on your receipt in the Pit. You are seated in Row DDD. We’ve refunded your shipping fee for the error and inconvenience. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns. Enjoy the show! Front Gate Tickets" I'm not actually upset that I'll be one row behind where

Petition For Wilco to Play "Wishful Thinking" in Atlanta!
mayfly replied to SarahC's topic in Just A Fan
I suppose it just depends. The one time I requested a song in person (for a solo show), he played it, but it was a song he probably would have played anyway (Via Chicago). I talked to Jeff after a show in Birmingham and asked if there was any chance he could play Via Chicago during the next show in Atlanta (where i live, on my birthday). I told him I was born in Chicago and it would be a great present. He said that he would see what he could do and he would try to remember, but if he couldn't he pointed to a guy that would remind him. He played it and completely screwed up the lyrics a -

You know, I was really psyched about this show since I haven't been to a show since the Residency. But then I found out that it is in the pit at the Classic Center again. I was at the 2006 show and venue is really bad. The sound was awful (so much so that when I talked to Tweedy after a show later in the tour, when I mentioned the Athens show, he commented on the terrible sound at that place), I agree about the college kids and it just isn't worth it to me to drive out to Athens from Atlanta for it. It hurts to say it, but I think I will wait for a tour once the album is out. I was plannin

California Stars at Chipotle in Atlanta.

I agree, I just forget that Charleston might be a place that people were willing to fly in to see the band perform. I have a free place to stay this weekend if I choose to still go, but I might not in August. I will have to take more time off in August since it is on a Thursday now instead of a Friday. It is all an inconvenience, but in the end, if it is worth it to you, you make it happen.
-
Yeah, I am glad I get to keep my seats. I feel SO lucky to have gotten to go to all five nights in Chicago, but I was dreading (only a little, mind you) the drive from Atlanta to Charleston on Friday so quickly after coming back from Chicago. I might still be going down there anyway since it was all planned and such.
-
Whatever. It will give me a reason to take a short summer vacation in Charleston. I don't mind having the show rescheduled, especially if it means more exposure on SNL (even though the show sucks).

I love Chicago- I was born there but haven't lived there since I was a baby. In my visits, I've never really met anyone I would consider a jerk. I am staying with some family over on West Norwood, a couple miles from the Riviera. I felt so bad when the guy who is kind enough to let me crash at his place, said that he might try and go to one of the shows with me one night. Oh, he has no idea...
-
I decided to get fancy and play with the options up above.

I will be flying into town from Atlanta the morning of the 15th for the shows and was wondering if there was anyone else coming in alone. It might be fun to have some people to do the tourist thing with, or even to have people to have dinner with before the shows each night. Anyone?

You know, now that you mentioned that, I did get mine from Ticketmaster. Sorry if I got anyone nervous. I usually get my stuff through the pre-sales to avoid having to deal with Ticketmaster,
