  4. John Doe sounds about 100 miles away. Clearly he hates his fans. (edit) Ok, that's better. Guess he changed his mind.
  5. ALL SHOW CANCELLED! They just scored a week-long gig on the Uncle Floyd Show! Really, they had no choice.
  6. Just curious: How does a crowd attain "f-ing legendary" status? I mean, besides the fact that a-holes like me are not present (anticipating hostile response to my query).
  7. Really. They are so last Monday. How soon before they're pimping Volvos and appearing on Mad TV? SELLOUTS!!!
  8. As much as I despise the pro wrestling that passes for discourse these days, I'm not sure how long I would have hung around with .
  9. At the risk of him not being a big enough celebrity to have a thread . . . William F. Buckley Jr. dies at 82 By HILLEL ITALIE, AP National Writer 33 minutes ago NEW YORK - William F. Buckley Jr., the erudite Ivy Leaguer and conservative herald who showered huge and scornful words on liberalism as he observed, abetted and cheered on the right's post-World War II rise from the fringes to the White House, died Wednesday. He was 82. His assistant Linda Bridges said Buckley was found dead by his cook at his home in Stamford, Conn. The cause of death was unknown, but he had been ill with emphy

  13. Ahem! Over here! Hows about a little love for ol' Tugger ? True, my review was pretty half-assed, but i did post the Plain Dealer writeup, which should count for somethin.
  14. You big baby! I think Jon Stewart thought it was pretty cool, too.
  15. Well, it was the middle of February in Chicago. By July we'll be a deep, rich bronze.
  16. Real happy that the Once song won. That movie, and it's music, are pretty terrific.
  17. Review from The Plain Dealer Wilco transcends "dad rock" in sold-out show by John Soeder / Plain Dealer Pop Music Critic Saturday February 23, 2008, 8:11 AM In certain snarky corners, the music of Wilco has been knocked as "dad rock." Well, papa had a brand new bag Friday night at Lakewood Civic Auditorium. This was the first stop on a 13-date U.S. tour for singer-guitarist Jeff Tweedy and his merry band of sonic adventurers, fresh from a five-night stand in their hometown of Chicago. Or maybe not so fresh. Tweedy's voice was a bit frayed, although it only added to the charm. Th

  19. This was my 14th wilco show (starting 2002) and it was the first time they didn't do either Sunken Treasure or Misunderstood. Still, it was one of the longest shows I've ever seen them play. One thing that was cool was the shadows of the guys on the side walls during a few songs. Also, I get the feeling Cleveland is not Jeff's favorite town - he had some pointed comments last year in pittsburgh, and it felt like his putdown lines had kind of an edge last night. Then there was the poor guy in the front row that he singled out for sitting most of the show - hey, Jeff, the guy probably paid $150
  20. Happened during the NY Dolls show, but I did howl at the moon during Personality Crisis.
