I don't guess I've ever actually seen a glenn beck show. I'll have to set the DVR one night this week so I can be as angry as everyone else.

Pet Sounds would probably not make my top 150 -

I'm so confused. are the democrats still spineless or not? -
that's what I first thought of when I saw this thread. I don't think the album concept will die, but I look forward to different ideas/lengths for albums, as the old physical limitations inevitably ended up with good stuff getting cut and crap getting thrown in as filler.

the government should offer civil union licenses to any adults willing to apply for them and pay the requisite fee. period. any restriction based on race, gender, sexual preference or number or partners is based in religion, and therefore a no-no. marriages belong in arenas that in theory should have nothing to do with the government. -
yes. as to On The Road, that book really changed my life freshman year of college. I imagine that it would not do much for me now. At the time it helped me to jump out of my shell of perspective and insecurity and decide to live life--just lit a fire under my ass to experience some things. I think one has to be in a certain mindset to enjoy it. I can understand how in a vacuum it would fall short (in a pure literary sense) of all it's fabled praise.

(Ventriloquist)Jeff Dunham + crazy success = wtf???
Atticus replied to Good Old Neon's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
just so I'm clear--you're upset with this guy for resorting to stereotypes and pandering to an audience, right? wait, there it is again. -

agreed. I seem to favor her roast bits, but just couldn't get through her show. ed.: ("roast bits") -
my main point is that everyone misses my point

Please highlight anything in the first post that in any way puts forward the notion that "Wilco's music and lyrics contain actual soul-satisfying peace and love... the Phish scene is substanceless when it comes to that."
-
I don't think anyone missed your point, and apparently you are going to continue to change your point until it makes some kind of sense (hint: you're not there yet) Wilco have changed bits and pieces (tempos, instrumentation/accompaniment, solos...) on a lot of their catalogue over the years--sometimes very subtley, sometimes more pronounced. In my opinion an "anti-jam band" would be a band that simply plays its songs live exactly as they sound on their albums. Wilco rarely ever does so. I'd love to hear more about your knowledge of Jeff's personality and beliefs

please PM me a list of everyone whom Jeff hangs out with. Once I have that I can finally die.
