  1. this is a great sentiment, but if you've been around this board for even a very short time, you surely knew that this post would only serve as a bat signal for the ridiculous (see below).
  2. generally speaking, telling people who are talking during shows to stop talking during shows does not curb those people from talking during shows. that's why I pee on them. Jeff's not cranky, he's just concerned about wrinkleintherug leaving the board. this will pass. lead by example.
  3. just sick talent http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsyDVtgjx08
  4. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t6RElxGun28 mad mad genius (notice the half-slide on the pinkie)
  5. I can't fucking believe the band isn't on here discussing this for us to add our input
  6. while flipping channels last night I landed on the Leno Tonight Show and decided to give it a try. as a guest he had that Australian guy who was in the worst romantic comedy possibly ever made (with the blonde from gray's anatomy). They let him sing "L.A. Woman" with the band. it was horrid. I went to fetal. it was saved in part by the hotness that is the Latina chica from Modern Family, but Jay is still a tool anyone know how the ratings are faring in this new incarnation?
  7. yes who coined the Flocke term?
  8. did you not read my post. hour and a half wait. and they tried to get me to have an abortion.
  9. I went to see my ENT this morning. I had to wait an hour and a half before finally seeing the doctor--thereby PROVING that Obamacare is an utter failure. took less than 48 hours to unravel the whole system into madness.
  10. I'm a very happy person, and I have a healthier sense of humor today than I have ever had. in fact it is in large part how I'm able to tolerate and laugh at the ridiculous PC bullshit that runs rampant these days on this board that used to get laughed out of the room with fervor. (and I love you too Dan, for realz)
  11. if having a point is becoming a requirement on this board then we're all fucked
  12. so you wouldn't like to read an even-handed piece from someone who has talked to both sides of the debate, read the bill, and reported findings and potential strengths and weaknesses in the least passionate way possible? I would very much like to read such an account, because I will never have the time to review the entire bill itself, not to mention the hundreds if not thousands of references to other legislation within it, and I'm tired of the majority of press on this issue being opinion pieces about how [insert excitable adjective(s)] the other side is. as to providing a reference to th
  13. this here was your point: this here was my response: the fact that congresspersons voted in favor of the bill does not equate to an endorsement of the bill as the "best, most workable solution at the time." I'm not "looking for" anything in particular, I am not failing to "actually listen[ing]" I am pointing out that YOU suggested that although no one is usually completely happy in a compromise, same may be the "best, most workable solution at the time," and that no one seems to be suggesting that this bill is the "best, most workable solution at the time." is that clearer?
  14. took 5 seconds to find the bill in a google search. it's right here. but no journalist is going to actually read this bill, talk to medical experts on both sides of the issues and explain what the practical effects of it are going to be. it just doesn't sell.
  15. I never made the point that there was, but in answer to your question, I'm not educated enough to know. I searched over 10 articles this morning discussing the healthcare bill and noted that not one of them made reference to the actual number of the house bill that was voted on, nor a link to its full text. wonder why that is?
  16. when a liberal says/does something stupid and indefensible, this board rallies around the point that one shouldn't cast dispersions on an entire group based on the idiocy of one or a few individuals. when it's the other side of the fence, that logic seems to vanish. I don't know any teabaggers, which I realize is shocking to most everyone, since I live in Texas where we're all uncultured racist redneck homophobes, but I'm sure there are some who have legitimate reasons for their opinions. why can't their opinions and views be criticised without labeling the whole group as racists?
  17. right, except I've yet to hear anyone proclaim this bill as the best, most workable solution at this time. so I guess I don't get your point.
  18. right. because everyone who opposes the democrats' healthcare bill is a racist.
  19. I had this same problem years ago with my fender bassman reissue. except that for me, at certain times all sound would cease except the humming. the tubes on my amp are ancient and I haven't played it in 6 years, so I don't know what the problem is. let us know if you find a solution.
  20. from what I've heard, liberals are upset about abortion issues, lack of universal single payer, conservatives are upset all around. yay!
