all six seven members were on stage for the recent London show. Jeff Tweedy, John Stirratt, Glen Kotche, Nels Cline, Pat Sansone, Mikael Jorgensen, and Taylor Hicks fixed it for you!

I just think you have to have a strong emotion to make somthing good. Despair is a strong emotion. But so is outrage, or love, etc, etc.

On Pet Sounds "I really wasn't quite ready for the unity. It felt like it all belonged together. Rubber Soul was a collection of songs ... that somehow went together like no album ever made before, and I was very impressed. I said, 'That's it. I really am challenged to do a great album." -Brian Wilson

Just because the Beatles loved it doesn't mean I have to!

I would say that the Beatles put out 7 albums that are each better than Pet Sounds. Help, Rubber Soul, Revolver, Sgt. Pepper, Magical Mystery Tour, The Beatles (White), Abbey Road Don't be too harsh on me, this is just my opinion, and I am young.

I can't tell you how much I agree with those choices -
Anyone else see this show at the Hollywood Bowl? It was pretty sweet. The Shins started out playing hits from their first two albums, as well as a couple new songs. Thank you very much. Do you mind if I take (ONLY) the new track and encode it into mp3 and host it somewhere so people on this website can hear it with ease?

Sure, here's a VERY pretty version of In a Future Age

Here's The Late Greats prefaced, as requested, with some 4th of July banter

I went bowling before the broadcast was starting so I only have everything after "I'm the Man Who Loves You" recorded (though I know others were recording, so its ok) Anyhow, if there are any single song requests you just need to hear again (in the 2nd half of the set), id be happy to encode those in mp3s and post them online. Thanks for the great show everyone!

I started a chatroom on AIM called "viachicago". Feel free to join if you want to do live chatting during the show. Or if, you don't like chatting, you can always just play the Who-can-name-this-wilco-tune-the-fastest game.
