Another great pic! Thanks, Charles.
-
Yeah, I did. I sorta mentioned it to Jeff on Saturday and he just said "hmmmm". I do wonder why they don't play it much. Of course, it does have a fiddle but I would think Pat (or Mikeal) could tear up the piano parts.
-
Were they sitting on the edge of the stage? We couldn't see them until they did the running part of the song.
-
Yep. You had just walked up and were talking to the other group of VC'ers when Matt and his wife came out of the venue after the opening act. They stopped and talked to me for a second, so it's possible you could have seen them. Anyway, I'm sure we'll all be at the same show another time.
-
First time I saw her was at the 2005 Asheville show. She's definitely a Wilco veteran!
-
Not to mention, Jeff did say they were playing a lot of requests off the website so you have to appreciate that.
-
I wish! not sure how I'd swing it.
-
Between the Knoxville and Asheville shows, I heard several songs that I haven't heard much at all before (Kamera, Candyfloss, Can't Stand It, She's a Jar, At my Window, Casino Queen, Shouldn't be Ashamed, Box Full of Letters, I'm Always in Love, etc) so I was pretty satisfied.
-
I thought of you when they started playing it, if that's any consolation!
-
You guys were actually standing within feet of each other in the lobby and didn't know it.
-
You looked like you were having a good time! I was at Jack of the Wood before and after the show. Guess I just kept missing you! Oh well, next time!
-
Hey, that's what I had! Biscuits are good too..sweet potato fries, grits...i could go on. But i'll stop. Jack of the Wood was cool, too. So was Chocolate Fetish. Plus, the people of Asheville are just so damn nice! Love that town and so does my debit card.
-
Yay! Glad you got tix.
-
You're welcome! Glad you got to hear a little bit of the show. I almost forgot my phone was on because I was jamming so hard. hehe And before anyone asks, yes there was a taper and my friend and I sat right beside him. Very cool to meet him and everyone else I met on my Wilco adventures in Knoxville and Asheville. So sad to see it end but had a blast!
-
I think we are doing this, too. Tupelo Honey over Barley's though.

True! And it wasn't so much that my ears were ringing..more of a buzzing or something. Never felt that way at a Wilco show before.
-
Ok, thanks. I have been to Tupelo Honey and very much enjoyed it. We are leaning towards Jack of the Wood I think.
-
Was listening to this yesterday afternoon driving through the mountains. Perfect mountain driving music.
-
Maybe it was just me. Or maybe it was where I was sitting, I don't know. I was just curious.
-
Just thought I'd pass along this information I got from my friend who's very familiar with Asheville (and who will be coming with me to the Wilco show tomorrow).
-
Did anyone else notice how incredibly loud the music got towards the end of the show? I could barely hear any vocals. I'm wondering if it was just my ears or if it really was that loud.
-
I still haven't seen it or read any of the reviews. Tonight's the night...well if I can get packed and get myself together at a decent hour.
-
Great to meet you, too! And Ben. That guy was a trip.
