Both Asheville and Athens are around 2 1/2 hours from here (athens is probably closer to 3 hours, tho) but while Asheville is straight shot down the interstate, Athens isn't. Maybe if the show was on a weekend, I would go since I have a high school friend who lives there. But it's not, so Asheville is the safer bet. And also, FYI Thomas Wolfe is all reserved seating. But that doesn't stop people with balcony seats from coming down and filling up all of the aisles.

I'm betting at least 4 teams make it.

That's the same experience I had. It's the worst Wilco show I have been to. I was on the aisle and once Wilco came on and people started crowding everywhere, I couldn't see a thing. Maybe I should get a balcony seat this time if I decide to go.

Thanks to the lovely renic for the multiple phone calls last night. It was almost (almost!) like I was there in person.

Been thinking about whether or not I want to go to the Asheville show. As much as I'd hate to miss a Wilco show close by, it's a four hour round trip on a Tuesday night, plus I hate the Thomas Wolfe auditorium. Decisions, decisions.

Yes, as I stated earlier in this thread, the guy's a douche. Luckily, I don't live in his county. Unluckily (?), the sheriff of my county is an even bigger douche.

Sheriff Lott should be more worried about gang violence, random home invasions/murders, shootings outside and inside night clubs, people being murdered at ATM machines, etc. than whether Michael Phelps smoked pot here. Do your job, douchebag.

That's actually been a non-issue lately. People are more concerned with losing their jobs and the Governor is too busy fighting with the Employment Security Commission over their unemployment payments. Fun times in the Capital City! I'm really interested to hear what Duce Staley has to say about the Phelps pic. He's the one who invited him to the game that weekend, but I don't know if he had any connection to the party. Supposedly Phelps is dating some girl here.

Finally, Columbia can be known for something other than having a crappy football team. woot!

Just found out the ex bf lost his job today. I would say karma and all that,but I don't think he liked it very much anyway.

Wow, serious vibes to all those affected by these massive layoffs. My small office laid off over 10% of our workforce last week with possibly more layoffs or mandatory furloughs to come. It seems like everyone I know knows someone who has lost their job. At this point I'm happy to have a job, even if I don't like it very much right now.
