  1. They have the talent to get into the playoffs every year, but Yankee teams with lesser talent won titles in the 90s because they had better chemistry.
  2. Fair enough. As a Yankee fan I can't say congratulations, but I am glad there are some happy Wilco fans I guess. Yanks will be back as soon as they shed No. 13 and start playing with more heart. EDIT: Looks like Girardi has been offered the manager's job.
  3. I think this was overplayed a bit. The Rockies had an incredible (and improbable) run, but they were overmatched in the WS. Any of the AL playoff teams would have beaten the Rockies.
  4. I like TV that feels real. Like the second season of The Office. And the first season of Friday Night Lights. When it starts to go over the top and become unbelievable (like people thinking they could put a baby in a tanning booth), I tend to tune out. But I guess that kind of craziness is what Philly thrives on.
  5. I loved the first two seasons but it's been hit or miss lately. There have been a few episodes I had to turn off because I hadn't laughed at all by the midway point.
  6. There are plenty of people here in Oklahoma who hate Texas with a passion. But why is this Chicagoan going off?
  7. I love the show because I can personally identify with Larry David in just about every scene. Which probably doesn't say much for me as a person.
  8. Haha. OK. I was just trying to justify why someone might vote them No. 1. And I still say that it can be reasonable to vote a one-loss team higher than an undefeated team. I don't think Oklahoma should be No. 1. But I do still think the Sooners have a chance to be in the title game.
  9. That was a close one. If we were playing any other Big 12 team today it would have been a loss.
  10. No doubt. That guy was the best. Any idea what he's doing now?
  11. So should I stop talking this show up to my friends now? (most of them still aren't watching it anyway)
  12. Yeah I don't really think OU should be No. 1 right now. I was just playing devil's advocate. Of course, I do hope the Sooners will be No. 1 at the end of the season, which is all that counts anyway.
  13. I really like FNL, but it's hard to take a lot of scenes seriously since I read this phrase. I just crack up every time.
  14. I think the Colorado loss was a complete fluke and apparently one AP voter agrees with me. Yes, I have an obvious bias since I'm an alum, but I don't think it's that much of a stretch to say that one-loss Oklahoma is better than an undefeated Ohio State. If I were an AP voter I'd like to think I could vote for who I thought the best team was, regardless of record. My best friend is a basketball voter and we've talked about this a lot.
  15. Might be people who ran out of time or inadvertently submitted the same poll from last week. Or, they might really believe one of those teams is the best in the nation. It's not the craziest thing I've ever heard.
  16. Everyone will have a loss this year. Amen to that.
  17. I think an NFL star was born today, if he wasn't already. 20 carries, 224 yards, 3 TDs.
  18. OU would destroy Kansas. Actually, we may get to see it in the Big 12 Championship.
  19. LSU loses Cal loses But OU wins. We're on our way.
  20. True, anyone can win that game. We learned that the hard way in 2003.
  21. Torre is all class. Steinbrenner is not as bad as he used to be, but he's still major league a-hole.
  22. It took me several years to get my best friend into Wilco. Somehow YHF didn't do it, but KT and SBS definitely did. Must have been Nels.
  23. My first chance to post after an outstanding weekend of college football in Dallas. There is nothing better than an Oklahoma victory over the Shorthorns. Boomer Sooner! (Running back DeMarco Murray)
