  1. Agreed. There's more to it than I expected. Pleasant surprise. I like the somewhat-thundering drum transition about halfway through "Hate It Here," which is more pronounced than on the LP version. I think that could be a great live moment.
  2. Another note on the DVD ... Somehow I thought it was just going to be a series of songs being rehearsed at the Loft like we saw in the "Hate It Here" clip. But there is lots of commentary and shots at other locations. What a pleasant surprise. Wilco never lets me down.
  3. Also in Oklahoma and glad to finally have the CD & DVD in my hands. It was overcast when I left for work this afternoon. I put the CD in and heard "Maybe the sun will shiiiiine ..." Sure enough, the sun broke through about the time I got to the title track. Sky Blue Sky. How appropriate. I'm making my way through the DVD at the office instead of working (seriously, who could focus on work at a time like this??) The DVD is just beautiful. I'll be watching this many, many times. And we still have the Letterman performance to look forward to. This is like Christmas in May. Count me a
  4. i used the license plate site's "recent plates" feature to send a little message to other users:
  5. I thought this was a fun live song when they played it in Wichita last year. Hopefully it will reappear in setlists soon. Thanks for the heads-up on iTunes. I figured it would be an album-only purchase from the get-go.
  6. I would guess Hate It Here or Sky Blue Sky.
  7. I was joking. Whoa. Edit: I am from Oklahoma, and I love Guthrie!
  8. Hate to tell you, but Wilco has sold out to do this program. Guthrie songs rule the day.
  9. I must be a true Wilco fan to sit through all this.
  10. I'm thinking one but I hope there's more.
  11. "The way people ought to make music" AMEN!
  12. My family hasn't tried them yet. Such a shame.
  13. Pretty bad. Pretty, pretty, pretty bad. Now the good stuff .... Sky Blue Sky
  14. Will this be streamed online? Link? EDIT: From what I can tell, I guess it will be posted on the PHC home page when the show starts.
  15. Thanks for posting this thread. I tried the station out when I went to see the Yankees last week and it was pretty good (as was the Yankees series). I didn't hear Wilco but I did hear "New Madrid." In the same hour I heard Neil Young and Bob Dylan. Not bad at all.
  16. actual size of the sign, courtesy of Clay Billman "creativetype"
  17. Well I could be wrong, but I think that one with the huge Cain's banner about 30 seconds from end is his photo. It goes by in a flash, almost like a subliminal message.
  18. Interesting theory. Does creativetype know one of his Cain's Ballroom photos is in this video? Just for a split second.
  19. True, true. I just haven't gotten to see PS live yet. I guess I have to go to the other side of the world. It is beautiful on the recording, isn't it??
  20. I didn't think so either until I heard this song. But without the right support, it is a moot point anyway.
