Thanks for the post. I had read it back then, but always wanted to read it again. Couldn't find it, so I am glad it's out there again.

IMHO, his best work so far. Gonna go see him in Offenbach, as it's only 20 mins away from us.

I remember the times when you went to a show and had to wait 2 days before you read about it in the local newspaper. Noone was talking about it being taped back then.
How old does that make me?!?

*fingers crossed for some proper shows, I l-o-a-t-h-e festivals*

In the name of the fans
Not in my name, excuse me, Sir. I like to be asked before someone assumes that something is happening in my name. Thank you.
One reason why Jay shouldn't be back with Wilco is that we might not get any more Jay solo stuff then.

We (U.S.) tried a remake but it was canceled. The Germans did too but failed. I don't see how anyone can outdo the Brits on this one. Don't see it happening like The Office.

A pilot for an American version of The IT Crowd was filmed by NBC before an audience on February 16, 2007. Jessica St. Clair played Jen, Joel McHale played Roy and Richard Ayoade reprised his role as Moss.[13] The show was originally reported to have a midseries debut in 2007

Yes. My husband is from Britain and introduced me to some fantastic stuff, including the IT Crowd, My Family and Only Fools And Horses. I love all of them equally

I could tentatively be in Santiago spending an afternoon dodging the giant swinging incense dispenser followed by some music.
Has to be said the other shows are pretty expensive, so just this one and some mountain walking thank you very much.

Happy Birthday Robert. You Rock

Thanks, that should make me at least not totally dread it anymore

high-speed internet? Nope, need it for work
premium movie channels? Anytime, we haven't got them and never will. Cinema is so much better anyway.
Cable TV? We have a good old Satellite dish which offers more channels than we have the time to watch
Bottled water? Nope, I hate tab water
Cell phones? Nope, need it for work
$2+ coffee? I never buy coffee anywhere other than with a McDonalds meal every 3+ months
Concert tickets that cost more than $30? Depends on who's playing

We've got tickets for Frankfurt. Not my choice spending money on him though Oh well, hope he'll put on a better show this time with the E-Street band than he did last time with the Seeger Session Band or however they were called.

Have a fantastic day

Woohoo!! Donna!! Tom!! Jesus Christ, that is freaking awesome!! I do remember from our wedding (has that been really 2,5 years ago? Blimey ) how much he was into that stuff, and I am so pleased for him that it now has happened!
Congratulations Tom, you've made your Mum really proud, and you will do brilliantly!!

I'm 1/4 Hungarian Gipsy if that helps? I've got absolutely nothing in common with them though, can't understand any of their lifestyle and kind of stay away from them, so I am probably not a good example

I frequently flew Ryanair from Stansted to Newquay (UK) because it was the only affordable way to get to my husband when he was still living in the UK. Always dreaded those flights because the planes are old, the staff is completely untrained, the audience is.............hm..................let's just say takes getting used to, and the extra fees (esp. for luggage) are a disgrace. Rob and I wanted to fly from Luton to Dublin in Summer 2007 coming from another flight with another low-budget airline which thought that as long as both our suitcases didn't exceed the double weight limit, it was fine. Not so Ryanair. One of our cases was below the weight limit, one was above, but still within the limit for 2 people who are flying together on the same bill. Still, they insisted that none of our cases was supposed to be over 15 kg. Reasonable argumentation like "listen, these cases will go on board anyway, so what does it matter how much each of them weighs, as long as both together are under 30 kg?" or "shall we just take 5 additional kgs into our hand luggage each then? the weight on the plane will STILL be the same!" is wasted time. So we had to unpack both suitcases until each of them was exactly under 15 kg.
They are complete f*cktards, and whenever I can avoid flying with them, I will.
If they should ever offer 15$ flights from Frankfurt (or London) to Chicago or San Francisco, well then I will gladly check both of our suitcases weights before

Yes I thought he might have been involved in this particular lyric and therefore think he somehow owns the rights to use it, but still, it is a very distinctive phrase that you unlike e.g. "this and that" won't find anywhere else, and definitely can't "just" write it accidentally, so yes, it seems odd and uncalled for IMHO.

I like the album very much, and I mean very much, but what I find seriously disturbing and kind of off-putting is that he had to go and mention "Pillowy Stars" as well as "Cracked Door Moons" in "Little Blue Pills". Kind of a cheap shot if you ask me, and totally unworthy of his undoubtful talent.

Seriously, nothing could be better than celebrating our anniversary with some nice Wilco around it
(My parents were almost part-time residentials of San Sebastian, Bea, they went there that often during the late 90s!)
End of May roll on! In need of some serious girlie time here (ok ok with hubbies )!!

Happy Birthday
Why do you come to VC?

I came here because this was the only place where I could talk about Wilco without getting either "huh? Wilco WHO?" or "Gaaaaaaawd they're so OVERrated!", not to mention "eeeww Jeff Tweeeeeeeeedyyyy?? Michael Stipe is SO much hooooottteerrr!!!?!???!?!?!?" as a response.
I realized very quickly that Wilco fans are about the nicest in the world............trust me, I've made my experiences with fans from other bands, and they all seem to have a law that goes something like "the more often you've seen the band, the more pretentious, rude & ignorant you have to become towards newer fans that haven't been as lucky as you" - totally 100% the opposite here.
I can't exactly remember if I found Donna here, or if we knew each other already from somewhere else, because I seem to have known her for like a 100 years , but she and too many other people to mention have been the constants in my life that I needed during the darkest stages of it. I've had some of the best times of my life with people from here, and I know that there are many more to come
And last but not least, even though I initially met him before an REM show, the fact that I am now married to the most fantastic person on earth is also due to Wilco. My husband was searching for a reason to get in touch with me after that initial brief meeting, and thought that the Wilco tour 2005 through Europe was a good topic to talk about, so he PMed me on another board like "oh I've noticed you are a Wilco fan too! Are you going to see them somewhere now?" So I had to write back, tell him I had to miss the tour due to an emergency surgery that couldn't wait, and it kinda came naturally that we ended up talking a lot, seeing as everyone else I used to talk to frequently was enjoying themselves on said Wilco tour. Clearly the best tour I've ever missed
And did I already say that Wilco are the only band that never disappointed my - ridiculously high - expectations about albums, shows, songs, lyrics? Ever?
