We received some really nice magnets (a pint of beer and a baseball!) and a very kind letter today from this super duper lady whom I hold in high regard......Chicago misses her and so do I.

I never spanked my kid - and I think once they hit Jr High it's too late......too bad, because as of late I would like to whip that kid on her butt with a 3x4. I can't believe I was ever as nasty to my mom as my daughter is to me. I know I could be a beast - but she takes the cake. I think she needs to go to Sally Jessie's boot camp. I probably needed it too when I was her age.

wow - that Cardinals/Padres game was some of the most boring baseball ever witnessed, especially in Oct. Both teams looked so bored. Where's the fire?? Watching the Tigers last night was what October baseball should look like. And they are up now.....our dear friend MrRain422 is there right now......lucky! Let's hope they can hold the lead and eliminate the Yankees! woo!

that picture of Ira Glass used to hang in the hallway outside of the local NPR affiliate/station where I went to undergrad. I would pass it frequently on my way to classes........it made me swoony.

Olbermann had a great rant tonight.

The debate about the pledge goes both ways......there are some religious sects who don't believe in the pledge of allegiance because they refuse to pledge loyalty to a nation/state - thinking it goes against the tenets of their religion and is not in the best interest of the world.

I kind of like those ads......though if we are going with ex-Dodgers in an ad, I think I'd like to see Fernando Valenzuela.
