  1. Yeah, I watched the webcast and they rocked hard, really hard. Nels looked possessed

  3. It would be preferable for him to be a responsible public official rather than looking for just political gain.
  4. Hard to pick a favorite. For the earlier stuff, there are a lot of standouts: YEM, Divided Sky, Foam, David Bowie. Later on I always looked forward to hearing Tube and Vultures. Probably the best written song all around is It's Ice. The lyrics, melody, and instrumental section are amazing.
  5. Wish I could go. Such a beautiful part of the world.
  6. McLame's new not-so-subtly compares Obama to Britney Spears and Paris Hilton. And it says Obama's against offshore drilling like it's a bad thing
  7. Great show. I love the radio show and I was surprised how well it was adapted to television. Ira rocks
  8. Thanks for the info. I've notified my address book. I got a right wing chain letter for the first time yesterday about how Barack will raise taxes to over 50% of a middle class person's paycheck. 30 seconds on google and I know it's bogus. I don't get how ridiculous cliams get passed around. It's okay to not like or support Barack Obama, but ground it in truth not lies.
  9. And I thought you were the oldest member of VC all this time...
  10. Ricky Gervais, of course. There are lots of NPR podcasts on all types of subjects. EDIT: This seems perfect for himcspan Book TV After Hours
  11. I like the E11 chord from New Morning by Bob Dylan: 022232 Great chord for resolving to an A
  12. To me the destiny requests became removed from the song itself and took on a life of their own.
  13. Sweet! In these hard times, I need some cheap fun.
  14. They did in 2003. There's a really good version of Bob Dylan's 49th Beard on the official compilation
  15. Ooh, they're playing Tampa. If I can talk my girlfriend into seeing Deerhoof, I totally deserve a medal (but wouldn't the show be the prize) Shut up, voice in head!
  16. Are those lyrics from a Flaming Lips song?
  17. I remember reading about their use of iPods. Fishman's had a lot of Zappa. I remember reading Page having to listen to Stash before they played it. The sad part of this story is the problem wasn't just that thet weren't playing bust-outs; they also weren't really practicing anymore. Pretty good geeky interview with Brad about their use of iPods here
