Yeah, for those curious, he says the material was started at the same time as what ended up becoming Star Wars, they just divided it up by style. Tweedy describes these songs as "a fucked-up country record." He says it's about finished, but they're not in a big hurry to put it out.

So "a win" is merely an indicator of momentum, while the delegates won help the candidate's progress towards a numeric win? I guess what I'm wondering is if Clinton's win is symbolic while her delegates puts her an almost negligible one ahead of Sanders? -

I find myself rooting for Trump based on my hopeful belief that he would never be elected. Nevertheless, I can't wait to see him respond to losing. I loved Carson's speech which started with Joseph Stalin. -

I think we can all agree that someone's candidate sucks, and America needs to get gooder. -

Yeah. I think I'm trying to check my bias. A lot of my more intelligent friends have questioned the impulse on the left to say, "Well if cops are killing unarmed black kids they'd better kill these armed extremists." I don't think anyone is saying that here, I think everyone has made fair points about the events. -

At least he wasn't running away unarmed. But for consistency's sake I have to wonder if they could have strategized a way to get him into custody without a fatality. -

You're right here, that we don't know yet about exactly what happened. I think I used "took up arms" in that they were an armed militia that had a bone to pick with the government. I would say any man who leaves home with his rifle to fight a stupid fight is abandoning his family, and any claim otherwise is grandiose, pompous and impractical. There would be a lot less blood shed in this world if people would park their crusading egos and see things this way. But here we are in philosophy, which is a step away from politics. -

Yeah, that's a pretty big leap. Those guys were as much in the right defending their cause as a guy who loses his life in a gun fight over drug turf. Most causes are not worthy of violence, almost all of them. You're no better than a jihadi if you're so self-important that you think your personal beliefs entitle you to take up arms against other citizens. -

No, not all governors are great presidents, but it's quite possible they weren't great governors either. That would be an interesting study. To clarify, running a state with its immediate budget to balance, its own senate and congress to balance, real citizens counting on your action- it's just a lot more like being a president to me than glad handing with your fellow senators and calculating how and when to vote on one particular bill. More things tend to unfold in real time in the governors office and the white house than in the legislative branch. Yes, as smart people you can find war -

He's a pretty reasonable guy. I keep saying I love the alternate universe where the election is O'Malley vs. Kasich. That could be a levelheaded election year. Also I think being a governor has more in common with being president than being a senator. -

All good points. I was thinking if it came to pass it might mute some of her efficacy, as vps don't seem to truly do all that much. Nonetheless, symbolically she would help make a ticket that would take on corporate America at a historic level. -

Rumor is Elizabeth Warren is jumping on the Bernie ticket as vp. That'd be cool. -
As a citizen of Denver, and a Rockies fan, I'm totally cool with Fowler. As a Wilco fan, I can't really wrap my head around using them in a sports analogy.

After watching the gop debate the dems looked like phds at a cocktail party "I agree with everything you said, however I would add..." I kept thinking, something has to give when in the same week a bunch of elephants brag about how high their NRA scorecard is and a bunch of donkeys brag about how low their's is. Symbolic gridlock. -

Trump did go into a really good "China" fit where he says the name of the country dozens of times and then rattles off business jargon that connects to real trade issues, but in ways where the average person loses his train of thought. It's kind of his Achilles heel really because it's the one thing that gets discussed where he actually knows enough that he gets hard to understand, as opposed to his more digestible "build a giant wall", "stop the Muslims from coming" statements. If he makes it as far as the nomination his Dem opponent should bring up China. He'll go off and the base will gl -

Man. So many breweries. Granted I'm in Colorado, where we're drowning in them, but you guys are talking about companies which I assume are a big deal and I've never even seen them.

I love Lagunitas, New Belgium, and O'Dells and it would appear they're all getting bought up? My question is are they going to change facilities, management, or ingredients under corporate ownership?

This gets into deeper civics for sure. Our country has been defined by the balancing between state and federal rule. Obviously the Civil War sets up the fed as supreme but they've wisely allowed the states certain autonomy. The cannabis position is definitely an interesting conflict in some people's beliefs. Most hardcore, get-off-my-land guys have the same hypocrisy in their anti-federalist attitudes as they do in their extreme anti-tax positions, they aren't educated on the benefits they receive from the institution they oppose. If they had their way politically (and I'm talking extremists
