  2. My opinion: it rips... hard. Driving with 'More' turned up too loud makes me feel good.

  6. Yeah, outrage seems to run out after a while. I suppose part of it is my optimism that his significance has peaked as a dog whistle for an idiotic minority too small and repugnant to gain effective traction.
  7. I think the weirdest thing for me is the primaries have gone on so long that it doesn't even seem weird anymore.
  8. Looks like it was a big night in the Big Apple last night for the Trump and Clinton camps.
  9. Looking over their dates, they're hitting Europe hard! Sometimes the same country twice a couple months apart. I also feel like they're sitting on a big album announcement. I wonder if they'll use the same surprise release strategy as Star Wars.
  10. Yeah, I think even the political junkies have grown weary of this plateau in the narrative. Short of a new scandal, or a tremendous gaffe everyone is just waiting for the gop contested convention shit show and whatever dem nominee having a debate with their pick. I keep wondering, what does the term Republican mean in the 2020's?
  11. Oh yeah, Sonny Feeling is not so good.
  12. There's plenty to like on there, but you asked what's not to like. So: - The 18th time they sing "I don't care anymore" (YNK) - Rhyming sad with glad and die, sky and lie (Everlasting) - It's less intimate than Sky Blue Sky - It's less ambitious than Yhf, summerteeth and Agib - It's less masterfully executed than The Whole Love - It's less visceral than Being There or Star Wars - All of this without the unpretentious charm of AM - It wastes a great set of Tweedy and Feist vocals on a song that's just ok I could list just as many reasons why it's good.
  13. It's all sounding about how you'd imagine. Slightly more aggressive and personal, but similar to the others.
  14. Partially. It was a well articulated and needed counterpoint to a very legitimate criticism of our present incarceration rates.
  15. It's like a sports bracket, here are my thoughts: Clinton narrowly beats Sanders Disagree Cruz defeats Trump by a large margin (Kasich gets a bigger than anticipated number of votes, but still comes in a distant 3rd) Agree Bradley (GOP Supreme Court) wins by a slim margin, a recount will be asked for, she will ultimately win. Don't know enough to say. There will be issues with the new voter ID law, long lines, etc. Totally agree. The Dem turnout will be lower than the GOP. Agree
  16. Yeah, it's a pretty narrow path to victory. Still, the fact that a self described democratic socialist is a potentially viable nominee shows a shift in the American political dialogue.
  17. Looks like last night was a big night for Bernie.
  18. Have they ever performed Please Don't Let Me Be So Understood before this?
  19. They've been talking this stuff since before biblical times.
  20. Come on children, you're acting like children. Every generation thinks it's the end of the world.
  21. I have to say, the longer the discussion goes on in the general public, the more I feel people are imagining a Clinton presidency wrong. A Clinton presidency could be a continuation of the Obama presidency with perhaps a few differences. I don't know if anyone has considered the benign mediocrity that the Clinton administration would be. No, she won't take Wall Street to task. No, she may not be authentic. She won't socialize higher ed, or push health care to Scandinavian levels of access. She won't stop the sending of billions of dollars to Israel. She would surround herself with a
  22. That's true, I think the interviewer just keeps teeing up suppositions that Jeff finds annoying or problematic. Kind of the opposite of those interviews where Jeff gets philosophical about the nature of creativity thanks to a dialog supported by open-ended questions. I'm not sure if Jeff looks more cranky, or the interviewer looks more like a doofus. It's a little awkward.
