  1. They've been talking this stuff since before biblical times.
  2. Come on children, you're acting like children. Every generation thinks it's the end of the world.
  3. I have to say, the longer the discussion goes on in the general public, the more I feel people are imagining a Clinton presidency wrong. A Clinton presidency could be a continuation of the Obama presidency with perhaps a few differences. I don't know if anyone has considered the benign mediocrity that the Clinton administration would be. No, she won't take Wall Street to task. No, she may not be authentic. She won't socialize higher ed, or push health care to Scandinavian levels of access. She won't stop the sending of billions of dollars to Israel. She would surround herself with a
  4. That's true, I think the interviewer just keeps teeing up suppositions that Jeff finds annoying or problematic. Kind of the opposite of those interviews where Jeff gets philosophical about the nature of creativity thanks to a dialog supported by open-ended questions. I'm not sure if Jeff looks more cranky, or the interviewer looks more like a doofus. It's a little awkward.
  5. The similarity is political jockeying around a Supreme Court nominee. The difference is many senators were putting up resistance because of one individual judge's beliefs, not because of some re-imagined view of American civics and the constitution. As McConnell said "It's about a principal, not a person." If Obama filibustered for any reason, it was because of that particular person. Let's not forget that McConnell made up his mind before he knew who might even be in consideration, before he even considered the possibility of their qualities. He's entered into a losing game, if he backs d
  6. There was word about it years ago. I think it's been in cold storage.
  7. He could only mathematically do it if he won every single remaining delegate. Unless you mean as some sort of contested convention shenanigans. Then I have no idea how it works.
  8. Oh, Black Dots are great. Played a show with those guys a year or so ago.
  9. Scott, or one of the other guys? Small world, my band is setting up a show at that place! Their saison is really good.
  10. I think if we had multiple parties, it would still be Clinton vs Trump right now with Sanders and Cruz nipping at their heels. Clinton DEM party, Trump psycho party, Sanders Socialist Party and Cruz as the traditional GOP figure. I do strongly support your use of the word "guarantor". That's classy.
  11. Cruz plays a more traditional closeted bigotry.
  12. This is another event that is unique to this election year in my experience. I've never seen a candidate drawing this much vitriol. It definitely can make you worry about escalation.
  13. NPR covered all of the Trump products he didn't make, but turned into an infomercial at his victory speech earlier in the week. I'd say the shadiness of his business claims is pretty universally known, but then again I don't watch folks or network news.

  15. The only defense against a child with a gun is a seat belt.
  16. Nothing says freedom like leaving a loaded .44 on the car seat within arm's reach of a 4 year old. God bless America.
  17. I wonder if there's any chance Jeff dropped by Marc's garage for a podcast.
  18. Yeah,Bill Maher is pretty bigoted in his atheist way. Which is too bad because his comments on foreign policy and other issues are cutting, insightful and funny.
  19. The part I saw was way less of a train wreck than the last one. I was amazed they all stated that they would back Trump if he ends up the nominee.
  20. I don't even know if what we're seeing is the TEA party any more. I feel like the TEA party had a fairly clear agenda, take the GOP, sprinkle in some LIbertarian rebellion against overspending-Bush-style republicans, and cloak some serious social agendas (abortion, gay rights). Trump.... I don't know what he really believes in, other than hating brown people, and believing that his shoddy businesses are God's gift to capitalism. There's not really any coherence there. Cruz is doing the TEA party thing to me, and it's not really catching on like it's supposed to.
  21. First single is pretty cool. Way more Case vocals than Veirs or lang, but it's also really sparse.
