I've got a late entry: Forgetters S/T. New album from Blake Schwarzenbach of Jets to Brazil/ Jawbreaker fame. Manages to blend the strengths of both of his former bands. A real grower.

One of the top contemporary bands for my money. I'm pumped, except they're skipping my town on tour.

I like when Jon Stewart played a clip from Wonka about the people who wish to secede: "Oh no.... stop... don't go...." barely batting an eyelash.

The Latino vote has been a big topic in post election discussion. After reading this article I'm thinking the GOP had better start taking Spanish as a second language courses. I think we're close to being ready for a lock, but I feel there is still a bit of denouement left in here. I think there are some things to look forward at, some promises to discuss and some perspective to be had. I can't help but think of all of my friends who have offered up the equally cliched "Two party system is busted. What's the point? They're all the same criminals." argument. I can relate to their sentiment. There is some truth to it. It's a massive oversimplification, but there is something to it. The problem is that everyone I know who feels that way responds by either a) not voting, or voting for a third party. I saw Wilco for the first time right after this period, as some people are saying. I think it was their first or second tour with Nels and Pat. Which most of us agree was phenomenal. If you need convincing that the smaller lineup could do great things watch "Radio Cures" on the IATTBYH doc. Or the Letterman appearance where they play "War on War". Definitely some cool stuff going on in those days.

Good posts, we're already healing our partisan divide. At the end of the day people bicker because they want what's best for the country and see different ways of accomplishing that.

Latest polls show a growing confidence for an Obama victory. He has a strong lead in Ohio, and is showing an edge in Florida. If Obama takes Florida, Romney is definitely done for.

Gun rights have not changed under Obama, and I live in one of the most "pro weed" states in the union. He has not interfered with our state rights. Turns out this isn't the beginning of the end, it was the end before the beginning. This quote is from years ago when McCain and Romney were running against each other. To make matters stranger, McCain just dumped on Colin Powell for endorsing Obama when he should back Romney. McCain said something to the fact of how endorsing a bad candidate is ruining Powell's legacy. I wonder how he feels about "the Palin effect" on his legacy.

Jon Stewart knocked Romney's comments on Obama's bad government investments. Turns out Bain under Romney had more bankrupt companies than the businesses which Obama sent stimulus to.

On second thought I'm pretty sure that's a propaganda meme. I'd be curious to find any proof that it's not crap.
