Regarding "Voodoo": I saw them play this in Indy last summer and my thought then was "Pat should NEVER try to duel Nels, Nels just wipes the floor with him" - but last night Pat held his own during the duel. Well done, Mr. Sansone.

My impression was that they mailed it in tonight, kids. Ashes and PKB were a treat, as always...and Dylan's Beard was a very nice surprise. But the encores were Wilco by numbers - very stock list of tunes. If it wasn't for Hoodoo Voodoo it would have been a washout, methinks. Maybe the blowout in Milwaukee had the boys a bit tired? I dunno. Oh well, it was great seeing friends, old and new. Perfect weather as well.

OK, this is mostly off the top of my head...I divided up the GD into specific eras (my own judgement!) and picked one of my favorites from each one. Here goes! 1) '65- Fall '67 (pre-Mickey) : nada...I'm not real crazy on the first 2 years, although some '66 shows deserve mention (9/16, for example). 2) Fall '67- Fall '68 (pre-TC) : both 11/10/67 & 2/14/68 are killers...Mickey has taken the thing to uncharted waters.. 3) Fall '68 - Winter '70 (TC era) : 2/28/69.
