This poll mentions nothing about quality control as I downloaded GBV's entire discography and not every song is a diamond. But nonetheless, Pollard records more than all of these guys.

Jeff Tweedy (solo acoustic) Phoenix, AZ 12/27/09
luke79 replied to faxman75's topic in After The Show
Someone already posted the show along with art. Wilco/Tweedy solo is the only show I can tape and anticipate 3 other sources materializing. It's happened so many times to me, I almost feel comfortable not taping. But I still do as the show I don't tape will be the one no one else tapes. So go figure, there's 3 sources for this show. And with better sounding recordings of the literally unplugged songs. Thanks to the other tapers out there!!! -
Thong Song. Any Toby Keith, Kid Rock song. There's a million of songs that are worse than that Crows cover song. If you're after pure crap, get a gym membership, work out for a week and blood will pour from your ears. Costello's Radio Radio is a fine, way before it's time summary of where popular music is at.

Wah! Jay Farrar on Uncle Tupelo last week......
luke79 replied to IRememberDBoon's topic in Just A Fan
Jeff has said he'd be up to a one off show. But really, save for the unlikely Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame performance, it won't happen. It's too bad though. I'd like to see Uncle Tupelo. I was 15 when they broke up. -

Anyone else getting plastered this New Years?
luke79 replied to Tweedling's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
I'm writing papers for school. That was boring. So I just made plans to rob a bank and drink loads of whiskey. You know, to liven things up. -

Uncle Tupelo will play again when the Talking Heads tour. Which is never. Sad but true. Same with Morrisey and the Smiths. So go see David Byrne solo and make the most of the fact that he does 50% Talking Heads songs. Tweedy did Acuff-Rose on Sunday. And Jay play's UT songs as well. -

If someone would like to take the wav file of this show, eq and track it I can upload it to yousend or megaupload. I have papers to write so I won't be getting to it for a bit. You might want to use a little hiss reduction as it was an extremely quiet show, so there's a slight hiss in the quieter parts. Not bad, just slightly noticeable. Acuff rose turned out ok, but Someone Else's Song it barely audible. Anyways, let me know. Thanks, Luke -
I'm sure you can find an old Silvertone, Harmony, maybe Kay guitar for 100 or less if you look on craigslist. I'd get something older that was probably made better than something new and cheaply made.

I believe it was people that use their cell phones to record video, but you can double check when I get this show posted. Should have gone with Epiphone or maybe Squire. Too bad, considering it might have introduced more people to Paul/The Mats. I wanted a Strummer Tele till I found out it was made in Mexico.

LA Knitting Factory. I bought scalped tickets that should have been 30 for a pair and became 175. Oh well. It was a good show and he played New Madrid. That was before I saw my first Wilco show 7 months later at the El Rey in LA, CA.

I got back to school and am going to graduate in 18 months. 30 will light a fire under your caboose. -
Not worth your money/bandwith/hard drive space. Terrible interpretation. And I've seen the Flaming Lips do great covers so I thought it was a great concept. Uhm no. Godawful version of Time.

I'm taping, just wondering if anyone else is? 2nd time seeing Jeff solo, 1st time was March 2001. Yikes! That was a while ago. Luke

I've video taped shows and done audio recordings as well. I'd have to say that videotaping really detracts from the concert experience, but having watched my copies of Paul McCartney and The Cure from this year's Coachella, I'd do it again. But Wilco is so cool about everything, it seems slightly gluttonous to reach for that last piece they don't wish for you to have. Now the Old 97's......damn, are they ever the lovely Texans. Me: Hey Murray, can I videotape three shows of yours in a row? Murray: Sure. You want to patch into the board as well? Me: That would be awesome. Murray talks to the
