There were still tix yesterday for $35 to tonight's show. Weird.

It means I'm a believer.
-
I heard last week that the Monkees sold more albums in '69 than The Beatles and The Stones combined.
-
Oh yah. That's what I meant.
-
In a couple of years, so should The Back Street Boys. They influenced a hell of a lot of other boy bands.

I say nominate/induct anyone that has ever had anything to do with music in any way. Which reminds me: Why the fuck isn't Bach in there by now, anyway?
-
I was insinuating that the term/band/person known as "Link Wray" was either made up or so unrecognizable to most humans that it seems made up. As to what the criteria for induction to the HOF is: I don't think even the people who do the nominations/voting/decision-making really know or have a set of criteria they go by.

This thread would have better legs if it was titled: On My Girl! Tonight!
-
Nobody's really ever heard of "Link Wray," though....
-
Been to Hampton a bunch. The Spaceship. Warlocks, too....
-
Should be soon they've been dead for about 10 yrs.....
-
What, no Smashing Pumpkins?
-
Has anybody even ever heard a Deep Purple tune?
-
Not fancy, just a nice, tall brick fireplace on the patio and off the garage. I wish I had one inside still, though,
-
I don't care about the HOF noise re: KISS, either, just that they need to be mentioned in any discussion on 70's R&R.
-
KISS needs to be mentioned if the subject of '70s Rock is being talked about. They were huge in the mid-late 70s.

My little brother texted me from The Centrum (Worcester, MA) last night before the show only to tell me that the place is a pit. I knew this as I've seen the GD there a bunch. I told him that the old Philly Spectrum was worse and he agreed, saying he saw PJ close it out in '09 on/around Halloween where they came out dressed as Devo and played "Whip It." Pretty cool.

Yeah. Laminated Cat, fo sure.

I love good firewood. Unfortunately, my fireplace is outside now.

A dead tree, NoJ. A dead tree,
-
I like Cat Steven and like The Meters and don't even know what the fuck Chic is but re-state that the R&R HOF is grasping at straws and becoming more desperate to include everybody and anybody every year.
-
My point is that it's hardly "R&R" (hasn't been for years) and that they are grasping at straws. While The Meters and Cat Stevens and NWA, etc. are all good/relevant, the list gets more ridiculous every year. It's a sham.
-
It's that time of year again to laugh and make fun of the R&R HOF. Chic? The Meters? Cat Stevens? They must be running out of candidates/acts to fill that building in Cleveland up with.
-
Definitely. Garcia's voice was rough a times, usually near the end of tours, but that certainly isn't unique to this time period. The band had ups and downs in every era, imo, and this ear is no different. Plenty of absolutely killer shows in this er of 80s....

That should have read "life is a miserable whore." Sorry about that, friends. Have a blessed day, everyone.
