  1. Hey did you ever read that Meat Pups book?
  2. Oh. I usually just call it blow.
  3. Living in the future is fun, too. You get to hear music no one else has heard yet and play with all sorts of cool gadgets no one else has seen.
  4. Both Lazy Lightening and Let It Grow are low on my list of Bobby tunes, too. The only saving grace for Let It Grow is Garcia's space for guitar tomfoolery.
  5. Oh yeah, great version, great show. That's my favorite Maybe You Know, too! LOVE the Bertha that starts up right as it ends, too. I've had that tape for years and go back to it often.
  6. Yep. She was not a large gal, either, She had the short hair and was pretty low-key. They had Keelin together.
  7. People seldom mention Looks Like Rain for top Weir tunes. It took me awhile to warm up to this tune, but it's now with the top Weir tunes in my book. I love the 80s-90s versions with all the action towards the end. Garcia's guitar work on the tune , particularly towards the rising action near the end of the tune does it for me. This, with the ad lib Weir lyrics, and sometimes sound effects/echo, puts the tune "up there" for me.
  8. I'd say a better chance of Josh and Ron doing bumps together between innings.
  9. YMSB does a great cover of this tune, as did the GD. I'll toss out "What's Become of the Baby," too, for Wilco covers.
  10. The first tune back after the coma was Touch (in Oakland). That one is pretty memorable. I actually prefer the earlier Touch's ('82-83). The slower/funkier versions. One of my all-time favorites is from Lake Placid Oct '83. Bobby's rhythm on it is really cool (lots of wah-wah type twang the whole show from him....check out the Revolution encore, too) and Garcia's voice is all high and nasally but sounds great for the tune....
  11. It likely resembles little to what it looked like when he was living in it with all the other musicians living on/off in the basement, though. Doesn't sound like it's been preserved in the least. The story kind of brings me down. I think I may have a touch of the Blues.
  12. I hate to say it, but the only one on that list that is officially considered a "piss break" song is Jesus, etc., and even that is being reviewed to be taken off the "piss break" list. Sorry.
  13. I always thought The Stooges were more show than substance. Just my take. It's a lot hipper to say the Stooges were great, though. They were pretty instrumental in terms of being influential, they just didn't do much for these ers.
  14. I'd rather listen to GnR over a lot of the shitty "R&R" put out the past 20 years.
  15. Oh come on, I bet Jeff doesn't even listen to Wilco much anymore.
  16. ? You talking about GnR from last year?
  17. Weir and Dave Schools (and "others") tonight (8:30 Eastern) from TRI Studios. Look for free stream: http://www.tristudios.com/upcoming
  18. Pat could charm a nun into a bustier and ball gag. In fact, he likely has.
