He ain't gettin' any deader.....

According to Weir, hanging with Sam Hagar is more fun than a frog in a glass of milk.
-
Weir and Hagar are neighbors and have known each other for awhile. Hagar sang a Loose Lucy with Garcia at some club awhile back (1990 or '91).
-
Carson/Letterman/whomever. Weir Here: pretty sure that was only the second one (first one with Sammy Hagar last month).
-
The discussion part was mostly random bits and pieces, mostly from Parrish. Weir was in a sport coat with a cup of pencils in front of him at a desk, a la Letterman. Lemieux and Weir's guitar tech were there, as well. Phil played but then had to split for another gig. Fun stuff. Oops. Shoulda read ahead....

Hey NOJ: the Meat Pups released a track ("Down") off the upcoming album Seek it out (think you can find it on youtube). Excellent tune, imo. Makes me look forward to this one.

Loosely translated as "The Black Cat" in some sort of foreign language.

Well put, and ditto.

Particularly since he's dead.

Start it while you're still young, Moss, if you want to finish it.

Good lord.

Good luck. I've tried several times and just can't deal with it. I'm a quitter like that, I suppose. Makes a nice paperweight, though.

Believe Nelson also playing in some configuration with Stu Allen, too, at TXR.....

Stu Allen slated to play a few shows at Terrapin Xroads soon with Phil, Weir, Russo, Chiementi

I can only assume it's a priceless interview, but can't seem to download it or whatever. What's he got to say about the "disaster" gig with Todd Snider

I never get the "Jerry sound alike" stuff." Not saying you, but when folks make that statement. When they're (Phil&Friends, JGB, Rat Dog, Furthur, whatever) I want a certain mount of Jerry sound alike! I think it's hard not to sound like Garcia, guitar-wise, if you're playing his tunes. I like a variation of sounds and all but I don't want to hear Scarlet or whatever that sounds little/nothing like a Scarlet. Anyway, I only heard the Rat Dog quintet or whatever they are playing acoustic. Wonder why Mark Karan is isn't doing the led stuff. Not complaining, as I'm not a big Karan fan, but

I would think having to hang out with someone else you don't know for a day with no purpose would be awkward, forced, fake, and a certain typ of hell on earth for anyone, let alone a semi well-known artist. I would likely hate having to hang out with him, too, with no purpose.

Hot dog tree. That's something I've always wanted, actually. You stole my dream.

The Price is Right can really get me going. Sam Peckinpah said that.
