  1. You can transfer the paperless tix to another name, though. The main point (and a great point) of paperless is to try and keep the scumbag scalpers from buying up/reselling tix.
  2. Merl's kid on bass, Bill Vitt drums, and a dude on keys with sweet vocals. Guitarist was great, too. Used to play in Merl's Rainforest Band.....
  3. Check out TRI right now: tribute to Merl and JG: http://bit.ly/YZtjkc
  4. I was listening to 2.19.85 Kaiser today at work and it opens with Jack Straw. Spirited version and all, but what's up with the "one more time" after "We can share the women we can share the wine..." by Bob (and kind of Brent, too) in the opening and closing of the tune? Anyone notice this before in any other versions? I haven't.
  5. I'm not sure where the guy I got a lot of my music from got it but the Denver '73 shows he got me are sbd quality.
  6. Maybe they could choose a different tune off the album to start off a new version of the album and re-release it. Depending on the tune, sounds like there might be a niche market for something like that.
  7. Did you tell her: "I really shitty version of Yes...."
  8. They should have opened the album with "Rocks Off."
  9. Holy crap me too. The album slapped me upside the head and hooked me in from the first listen. If it were an article it would be an excellent lead.
  10. Yeah, The So What spacey mini-jam into Sugar Mag, etc.. One of only a few Ballad of a Thin Man in the first set, too. I went to the 88s as well as the 89s. Hampton was always a great, small place to see shows. As good as the 88s were, they weren't nearly as special as the Warlocks shows the following year.
  11. FWIW, there are also excellent recordings of the Denver '73 shows available out there....
  12. Wow thanks for the link. Awesome site. Easier than archives.com for finding shows to stream....Great!
  13. So now we're complaining about reasonable beer prices? And ticket prices? Good grief.
  14. Why? Because he shared a pad with a hottie and a neurotic chick?
  15. You are old. Not as old as Annette was, but still.
  16. Lake Placid '83 Barton Hall, Cornell 5.8.77 Alpine '89 Iowa 6.16.74 Those are a few I can think of off the top. Plenty others, though. There's one from Hampton, VA ('83 I think) that is pretty ridiculous, as well. Looong hanging note towards the end. Garcia Band versions, particularly '82-83 are typically smoking, too.
  17. Aren't there excerpts from the new Rosie McGee book and new articles/photos, though?
  18. I saw that. A black (limited time only) Hanes pocket tee with the only difference being the tag. What the hell.
  19. The upcoming Rolling Stone (I believe it's a special edition) is dedicated to the GD through and through. I've seen some excerpts around on line and looks like some decent stories/articles/photo spread.
  20. Good brief synopsis. Don't forget that there are more weed shops than schools and Starbucks combined and that weed is pretty much legal. Plus, I live here.....
  21. Is it "Goovin" or "Goofin'," though? That always confused me.
  22. Hey NOJ: I pre-ordered the new Meat Pups disc. Their website has cool packages for the pre-order with vinyl options, posters, t-shirts, etc. if you are into that kind of kinky shit. I'm not, so went through Amazon.
  23. Dude could be cantankerous and cranky and often mean in his reviews, but still he's apparently getting a lot of love from the film industry in condolences.
