  1. No fury, just kind of a thoughtless thing to say. No hard feelings from me.
  2. There are plenty of folks who are either undecided/indifferent or simply do not like SBS that have been fans of JT/Wilco from the get-go. And a time line as to when someone started digging Wilco means nothing, either. As with most of the Wilco albums it takes some time to grow into/appreciate fully the music. At least for me. However, not liking SBS as fervently as the next person means absolutely nothing in terms of appreciation for the band and their tunes. It's an album. Big deal. And the drug comment is inane.
  3. Oh, and I do like their music, too. They've got a real fun vibe about them and remind me a bit of Phish in the sense that they allow a lot of the songs to wend various ways depending on the mood/night/situation. Also, they've got a touch of the aloof/silly lyric thing going, too. And the penchant for quick time changes in a bunch of tunes.
  4. Best wishes. Calexico strikes up the band!!
  5. Huhn. This is the first I've heard of a Red Rocks possibility this summer. Not sure when they'd fit it in.
  6. BOS v. ATL PPD, so watching the NNY v. NYM game. Good match-up. Shemp just hit a blast to the upper deck in right-center. Strange swing.
  7. I've seen 'em a few times in CO and think they're plenty talented.
  8. The great white whale that has eluded me all these years. That bastard owes me a leg.
  9. Yeah, the half-crouch where he took a zig-zag line to get there. The look on Schilling's face they flashed was funny, too.
  10. I'm not trying to rain on the (sic) Henske Parade, as he was absolutely "the" man last night, I just think the catch was made more incredible due to his clumsiness. He made the play harder than it had to be, I feel. Still-great catch, though. And by all means, have your way with the bit.
  11. It was a great catch but I think if he hadn't clumsily slammed his chin into terra firma it'd have been merely a nice catch. Coco Crisp makes catches of that caliber often.
  12. I think I'd have to add the writings of HST and the poetry of Rumi to my list. Also the books Cannery Row and Tortilla Flat, Steinbeck. The Redskins used to be a huge passion but since the Snyder era I've been deflated a bit.
  13. Best wishes. Hope it's a fanatstic weekend for all.
  14. "Down In a Hole"- wow. How was that?
  15. Hey Dani: What're your favorite Wilco albums in order of release date?

  17. Yeah, it sucked watching Matsui break his filthy filthy filthy wrist. Filthy.
  18. Favorite album: Sheik Yerbouti. I picked this album up when I was about 13 years old after having gotten into Zappa with a childhood pal listening to Overnight Sensation and Apostrophe. We loved the goofy innuendos and bazarre attitude that came out in his tunes. Sheik Yerbouti was a defining album in my musical adventures. It remains an all-time favorite album of any of my favorite artists. The same buddy and I wanted to catch Zappa in Hartford on a Barking Pumpkins Halloween tour in the fall of '79 or '80. My old man wouldn't let us go solo, so god love him he took us himself. My dad was
  19. I'll call my wife to tell her she can free up about 3 hrs. on TiVO about now, thanks. I keed.
  20. Jinxes do not affect Julian Tavarez. Have you seen him in his black and red striped sweater and fedora? That "Dougie's Goin' Deep" was ripped off from a guy on SoSH who did one awhile back. I wonder if he gets credit.
