  1. Weir/Ratdog has been the most consistent and dedicated band (to playing live tunes, at least) since '95 over any of them. Whether you like the music or not is another matter. There have been ebbs and flows in Ratdog's music, imo, just as there were in the GD or P&F or a lot of other bands. The DJ Logoc phase was cool, too. Kimock was in the band for a spell when Karan was out and the band was tight as hell.
  2. Lost? Strange take. All of them have been steadily (Billy more sporadically) making/playing old and new music the past 20 yrs. I don't get what you mean.
  3. Tonight we do the Dance Macabre.
  4. Hey good news the "fully charged" signal is on my phone. Cool shit.
  5. It is a cool show (that I've never watched a full episode of). My younger kids and wife love it. My wife, her kid, and my youngest were Finn, Jake, some other character, and I was the Ice King for Halloween 2 yrs ago. I had to wear the Ice King costume out with the wife later that night for a concert and ended up tossing the blue frock he wears(I bought a blue Snuggy for it) in the street at like 1 a.m. Go figure. My step kid was some obscure horse from the show for Halloween this year. I think it appeared in one episode only. James Baxter or something like that. We started watching a sho
  6. I thought this, too, but why wouldn't he just say "I'm done?"
  7. CR has made his money, he doesn't need to be playing bigger gigs. But even last Crowes run they were playing medium/large-sized theatres. I think if he's trying to put the financial squeeze on Gorman or his brother or whomever says a lot about his character. I've never met him but nfolks I know that have say he can be "difficult," to put it nicely. Either way, I'd venture a guess that they'd get back together again some time down the road.
  8. Agree on those P+F shows with Trey in '99. The band also had Kimock and Page from Phish. The first show back features Phil's (then) young sons singing "Hello Old Friends". A good Charlie Miller sbd here:https://archive.org/details/1999-04-15.paf.sbd.miller.25295.sbeok.flacf
  9. Oh yeah? Either way, have at it. The JGB hasn't had JG in it for 20 yrs., either....
  10. It's not billed as "the Grateful Dead," though. It's "Fare Thee Well: Celebrating 50 Years of Grateful Dead". Trey is a fine pick. If that's who they want, that's cool.
  11. GDTSTOO now lists prices as such: "Reserved tickets are available for $215.50 and $95.50. A limited number of General Admission tickets are available for $115.50. (Ticket prices include a commemorative ticket)." That's cool that a ticket is included...
  12. See, this is cool. I might look into getting one of those. On the other hand, will I be tense not knowing if it'll be a nice " '74 Half-Step" or the opening notes of "Revolution" and that scream....
  13. It goes something like "BEEP....BEEP.....BEEP...." As stated above, it's a small, battery-operated Atomic clock.
  14. Regular alarm. But, if I could, I'd rig it so The Beatles' "Revolution" at full volume would be the alarm.
  15. I was thinking about this, this morning: do people still set their alarm clocks to radio stations to wake them up in the a.m.? Or to a certain CD/song, for that matter? Neither my wife nor I do. It seems scary. My ex-wife gave me an atomic clock about 10 years ago that runs on batteries (I think I have changed them once in that 10 yrs). The thing is travel size, is mildly polite in its tone, and is always 100% accurate. How do you do it?
  16. I've seen them a shitload, last time being a couple weeks ago. They play in Denver a lot. It's usually $15-20 to see them, so for that price, in a small club, it's worth it. There have been times I've seen them that they've been on the languid side, but it's still a fun night of tunes....
  17. People will bitch no matter who plays lead. No matter how you slice it, it's basically Furthur, or a very close version of. Not saying that's bad/good, just that the moniker of a GD "reunion" band is kind of funny as it's the same thing as "The Dead" or Furthur, really. I'd catch it regardless of who is on lead if it's local and not too pricey. If not, no problem.
  18. Cool. Was there, as well. Mine was New Haven, too, spring of '81....Home base until '85.
  19. Pretty cool piece found on archive.org on song histories in the live canon: https://archive.org/post/384860/the-grateful-dead-song-graph
