No, actually, just a steady beer buzz.

Wow. Why you gotta be such an asshole?

Went to see a a band doing "Mixed Tape 1975" on Saturday and dressed as a cowboy (to match my wife's outfit). About half-way through the night I undid my ponytail and for the remainder of the night had 6-7 people comment on how they liked my "Willie" costume. Damn.

The Bob Minkin book arrived last week. Haven't read the forwards yet but some nice shots in the book I never seen before.Well done.

The development near me literally has lines of kids waiting for candy at each house. It's ridiculous. Last year and this year we are taking the kids to a mellower neighborhood and do the beer thing.I wouldn't feel guilty. If they didn't want to do it, they'd have the lights turned off and door locked.

Mice aren't particularly bright. Think about all the mice that sign on for those "Lab" jobs. Idiots.

My favorite part about Halloween is when it's over.

My students have to dress as a "literary character" if they wish to take part in the Halloween Parade at school tomorrow. Teacher's need to follow this new rule, too. Any ideas are welcome. So far, all I've got is dressing up as Charles Manson from the book Helter Skelter.

That game could have been won by either team up until the foul ball pop-up to end it. Good series and a fun Game 7 to watch.

And skinheads on your lawn.

We've seen a mouse (mice, perhaps, even) the last few days in the house now that it's getting colder out. I opted for the poison over the traps or the stick-um. Wife wanted some have-a -heart deal. So, we Amazon-ed the have-a-heart trap. So when we catch it/them I guess I have to walk it up to the park or some shit to release him/her/them?

Bet that squirrel's name was Antonio (if it was The Tempest that made him piss the sill). For sure, that squirrel had no remorse for his deeds, too.

Read a book a few years back on rats in NYC. Some dude kept an eye on a particular section/alley in the city and studied rats for a year. really cool book, actually. Rats: Observations on the History and Habitat of the City's Most Unwanted Inhabitants. Those suckers can squeeze under doors.

I've never seen a rat in Colorado, actually. If it was a rat (and I still feel it was the amiable squirrels), I wish him well.

No way. We have some very brazen squirrels that have jimmied window screens and also just walked into the house. On their hinds. I know it was them.....

18th Anniversary of the release of Being There

I remember my first time listening to it, as well. Where I was and all and being wowed by how it sounded so unique and how I wanted to share that album with everyone around me. Pretty much listened to it whenever possible for a couple weeks and still enjoy giving it a spin a few times a year. -

It's true. One of them wrote me a really sweet and thoughtful card after the pumpkin devastation.

No one was home. And, how the fuck could my kids scale up a half-grown sunflower stalk? They're not Lilliputians, dude.
-
Squirrels took down our sunflowers that we had planted last spring. They waited for them to baaaaaarely start blooming over the summer and then broke the stalks by climbing up to get the meat. This is a presumption, of course, because it all happened when no one was home.
