I saw that Billy thing, too. Pretty cool stuff. He's been doing some last-minute shows, too, with Kimock, Schools, Chimenti and others. He and Mickey are in Denver soon for shows at Red Rocks (w/ Disco Biscuits) and The Ogden (Billy & The Kids). Might have to catch some of it.

The third night of the Ark shows is a whopper. The St.Stephen-> It's a Sin-> Stephen is excellent, as is the Dark Star that precedes it. The Eleven from 4/22/69 is one of my favorites, too.

The Ark shows are a hoot. So is Phil's singing. Part of the live experience, imo, and taken in stride.
-
He's got a large body of work and, imo, very little that's not top-notch stuff. Dude has been through the ringer and emerged through the other side writing and playing better as time goes on.

I'd say nearly 100%, if not 100%, of all children 0-3 are 100% non-prejudiced non-discriminators....

Never lets you down. I've been listening to Transcendental Blues (the album) a lot lately for whatever reason.

I always liked Phil's vocal take on "Broken Arrow" as his voice never really bothered/-s me. Vocal parts with Brent, as mb mentioned, were cool: "Gimme Some Lovin'," "Tons of Steel," "Tom Thumb's..."etc.

They only did it 4 times, I believe. All are very solid, too. I really like the bust-out one from the Greek best. Wonder why it was dropped from the roster. That Merriweather show is awesome, too, with that great Shakedown.
-
No doubt. It's sweet, too.

The "Feelin' Groovy" transition from China-> Rider '73-'74 is one of my favorite things GD-wise. More pronounced than the similar/same riff accompanying some earlier Dark Stars and heavier bass.

Thanks but it was a bunch of years ago and the oldest kids were young then. No place would take her because of the aggressiveness and we couldn't keep her because the kids were so young. Bummer. NoJ: In my experience, that's what happens with the border/herder breeds. If she's getting kicked out of training school, I don't know what to tell you. Maybe she will mellow out, who knows....
-
Aaaaaand....Sadie was the biter we had to put down. Ha.
-
Oh man, that's not a good sign. We had to put a border collie mix down because she just kept getting more and more aggressive as she aged. A lot of those herder-type dog breeds/mixes seem to turn sideways as they get older....

Ha! Really. Very sweet animals but like having a toddler around the house.

We assumed it was separation anxiety, as ours was a rescue, too. None of the behaviors (save for the outdoor digging) happen when we're home, We bought her a portable cloth dog house deal that she digs and recently started leaving the radio on while we're gone and that has helped lesson the destruction. She was even eating parts of a huge geode in the living room. We talked last night about getting a fence-like thing for in front of the book shelves she favors....
-
Nice! We got a Lab/German Shepard rescue a few months ago. About 1.5 yrs old, maybe. She's awesome but has eaten a few of my books and digs some big-assed holes in the back yard. She's chewed the corners of the coffee table in living room and the dining room chairs, too, as well as the living room area carpet edges!

Wouldn't he be the ideal candidate, though, if you tend to swing the other way?

Might catch JGB tonight or tomorrow night.

You should photograph (better yet, place a 24 hr surveillance camera on it) all dealings with the coffee maker from Day 1 so that when you and your team of lawyers take Mr. Coffee to court you have solid proof.

Very fun read on memories of Owsley: http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/the-dead-recall-the-colorful-life-of-lsd-pioneer-owsley-stanley-20110330?page=2

Sounds like the desperate decision of a loaded guy.

Don't most of the drip coffee machines cost like $20? At 7 cups/day for a year, that's a pretty good return.

Got a kick out of this. Probably catch the Ogden Billy & The Kids show. From Billy's FB page: I can show you a high time...living the good life: On April 18 and 19, I will be at the High Times Cannabis Cup in Denver for a one, two, three, puff-puff pass: First, I will lead a Keynote Conversation, discussing my memoirs, 'Deal,' with my co-writer Benjy Eisen (followed by a Q&A). I will also have the honor of being a judge, because not all cannabis is grown equally. Of course, that Friday (4/17) I will return to Red Rocks with my Rhythm Devil partner, Mickey Hart, as we join the Disco B
