There's been panhandling issues in the city for awhile now, as I'm sure with most cities. They are on nearly every corner downtown, often work in shifts, etc. I haven't noticed an increase in dreadlocked panhandlers, though. Interesting.

I just don't see these people you describe as being a heavy presence or an increased presence. Doesn't seem to be any more or less panhandlers (crusty, dreadlocked or short-haired) since the weed laws changed, is all.

Crime is down in Denver since the weed laws changed. So, yes.

Wild, calvino! I live in the city and we had a den of foxes a block away in the park that used to cruise the streeets at dusk. Recently, coyotes have been seen in the 'hood, too (not by me yet)....

This is preposterous and a ridiculous stereotype ("crusty, dreadlocked vagrants") to make on a city that has changed for the better due to the legalization of weed.

I've been watching some of the full shows (from the original live ppv) on youtube this week from last summer. Watched the SPAC 4th of July last night, a Merriweather, and a Dick's. Some excellent stuff and glad people can re-visit these excellently recorded/videoed shows.

No, that's Scott Allen with his Aces Back to Back. I actually purchased the book last year before he started cramming it down our collective throat. I stopped reading it due to inaccuracies in it as well as out of spite due to his pushy nature. he's not a taper dude, I don't think. That's some other cat with a book that doesn't push nearly as much as Scott Allen does.
