Yes, a real one not the FED, and that's what makes me tune out to the Republicans because they actually are going back on their party's principles being the corporate lap dog's they are today. And here is a article today in the mainstream press about the situation. It is seriously time to cut off the bailout business for the country's own future, at this point. You should not let fear mongers sell you on the idea that Gov. can't run anything when it has been proven throughout time it is private enterprise that cannot be trusted, especially in the financial markets without serious regulation, i

You seem to not realize the lengths that businessmen will lie. The national bank is the FED. And they came back in 1913 when we were in WW1 and desperate for capital. Woodrow Wilson said afterward allowing the FED back into our economy was his greatest regret. Here is an article about Jackson's FED opposition from WIKI. We keep fighting the same battles with the same multinational bank that has it's roots in the East India Trading Co., to give you an idea about how far back the FED stretches. Even now people are deceived because they call themselves the FED, which could not be farther from the

Sorry but this is no joke. Look at the markets today. It looks like we might hit the 5k mark, which is depression territory. It seems like some of you guys are still into the left and right thing. I like Obama to a point but recognize he is compromised because of the money he took from the banks to get elected, probably out of the first TARP fund literally. But he is not crying wolf. In fact, I bet he did not know the severity of the situation until he actually became President. These two political parties are two sides of the same coin, if you ask me. Obama's Bush Part 2 act, bailing out t

It must be nice to never know the feeling of going hungry. Kids don't get a choice about who their parent's are and I thoroughly disagree that we should penalize them for a less than ideal home life. The country wasn't founded on those kind of principles but I do find it disgusting how people can go around preaching moral values and compassion, while declaring war on the very least in our society: the poor. It would be great if they gave kid's free school lunches, but the Republicans would cry socialism. And all the religious extremists would fight it never realizing the irony of churches figh

Great post and I agree 100%.

What is your point? Do you even know what is in the stimulus? Small business is not facing a tax increase, but yes your boss would as an individual. In fact he would even get a 3k tax credit for any employees he hires this year. I'm not saying he is in the position to but there it is nonetheless. So if your boss is that stretched that a increase of about $45 in taxes per paycheck is the make it or break it point for him, then he wasn't in a position to keep going anyways most likely. I think most arguments that you seem to be accepting are not very genuine to begin with. Either way I hope you

Here is an article on the subject. I would have to disagree with most of your statement. See if you still think the same way about it after reading this- http://www.alternet.org/workplace/128745/o..._the_very_rich/ And here is an article about Fox's review of Jindel's speech. They even know he bombed. http://www.alternet.org/blogs/mediaculture/#128795

HAHA. Sad to say such a monument would not be so far fetched for a man who once said that ketchup was a vegetable to get out of Govt. paying for school lunches for poor kids, or in his way of thinking,"peasants". That's an example of why the Republicans worship the Father Of Homelessness.

No but in these jackasses mind it is the expendable money they can leverage out and test the bounds of the market with. It should be obvious when that is what takes the first hit when the market takes a dive. It is a big enough part of the market to cause big problems like when they invested everyone in oil and we were paying $4 a gallon. That was almost all speculation with major firms like Morgan Stanley investing people's 401k's in future commodities. A risky investment to say the least. And that bubble burst and started the entire downward slide in stocks this time.
-
But it has everything to do with a free market because it gives these crooks the capitol to run these schemes and notice the first casualty of all recessions are people's 401k's and look at the length Uncle Sam has gone to protect shareholder's and banks but not the victims of their practices the homeowner who has lost their home and the worker who has lost their retirement. Coincidence? They basically overvalue stocks and create these bubbles and do not create the safe investments for people's retirement and college funds. It is very intentional and when your employer signs you up with little

But it is. They inherited a surplus and turned it into a record deficit by going to war in Iraq and giving irresponsible tax cuts to the top 1% in this country. And it is starting to look like it was a gigantic rip off from the first TARP, which again was the Republicans. Now I agree there are problems with both parties but facts are facts and the Republican's economic and foreign policy is exactly why we are in this mess. It just seems like denial to try and claim anything else. That's right the death of free market capitolism is 9/2008, but like I said it has not really been a free mark
-
That's right Bush nationalized the banks. So it really is a charade to act like it is still a free market. It never was in the first place. When there is no competition and massive multinational corporations control all goods and services, that is not a free market. But history will record it as Bush who brought it to an end. And the other post is right we have been operating under a laissez-faire capitalist system. It's been like that since Reagan. Trickle down economics is actually golden shower for the middle class economics. A 19th century style caste system. But people are waking up and e

It is worth noting that back in October a group called the Tax Foundation published a report on which states received the most money from Washington compared to what they paid into the trough in the form of federal taxes. It should come as no surprise that southern republican states are consistently in the top ten as 'feeders' from the trough. Bobby's state ranks 4th with receiving $1.78 for every $1 paid in. Barbour's Mississippi is 2nd with $2.02 for every $1 paid in and Palin's Alaska is $1.84 for every $1 paid in. You can see the report here: http://www.taxfoundation.org/press/show/2

I would not go by what Clinton says. He is basically a Republican. I don't care if he has D by his name or not. NAFTA and deregulation also happened under his watch and contributed to the situation we find ourselves in now. I agree I have not been that happy with Obama so far. But when I heard the nationalization talk and now his push for universal healthcare I have been much more optimistic. The banks are the problem and I want to leave you with a couple quotes from 2 of the best Democratic President's ever. It pretty much says it all.

Wow that review makes it sound like an important film. If that is the content then my hats off to both the band and filmmakers. We need our musicians to speak up about this. The war on small business in this country reminds me a lot of what happened to get Farm Aid going in the 80's. Corporate owned farms pushed out the local and family farm and now Wal Mart has done it to the Mom and Pop stores. I guess Jeff and the band must see that parallel too. I just got reminded again about why Wilco is my favorite band. I really can't wait for this DVD. I think we will all be really happy with this rel

some DVD info, but mostly about Blu-Ray

Dude....all BR players do that not just the first generation ones. Face it the format has a lot of shortfalls and is not destined for mainstream adoption. But like I said, both BR and DVD can exist at the same time just like VHS and LD did. And given the low price of external hard drives now there is just not the use/demand of media based data storage there once was. If Sony want to charge $2 a disc for 500 GB of storage I would buy that but that will never happen. Sony is way too greedy for that. And I am personally pissed I had to shell out $600 for a ext. burner just to satisfy clients fo -

HAHA. Great Post. Looks like some members here bought the Sony hype and marketing campaign. There really doesn't seem anything to argue about anyways with this release. No BR has been announced and my guess is that Wilco is not releasing one. So much for the BR revolution. And you are 100% right the format itself sucks and loading times and firmware updates and different machine profiles is not the way to launch a new format. Blu Ray=the new Laserdisc. AOTAF will be a kick ass release on either format. I'm just hoping for an uncompressed PCM track if it's only released on DVD. I'm jealous -

I have seen plenty of BR. And as a matter of fact I know a thing or two about video because I work as a video editor. So I know what BR is all about. Two things you discount is 1.) Majority of HD sets in homes are 720p and are 32" and below. And like I stated previously, on large screens and digital projection systems there is a big difference. But on that size sorry no. The biggest advantage is being able to view material in widescreen. There is only a 240 line of resolution difference than standard def material. 2.) You go on about audio when the majority of people don't have any surround or -

No. I can't lie about that. I think that is a stretch but I agree if it was shown on a HD channel a lot of people would watch it because it was in HD. But that's for free I don't think people would buy a BR and not know what to expect from the band. But I'm sure a lot of people have more disposable income than me. -

For the most part that is right. The differences between BR and DVD are very subtle except on screens over 5 ft. and sometimes can actually look worse. Sleepy Hollow comes to mind. The BR is NO improvement on the DVD. The burners and technology are still really expensive for the professional world and as technology changes to download technology I think the BR future does not look bright. And I keep hearing it is making strides toward the mainstream all the time but as of now even after Christmas BR market share is still a whopping 8%. The players even after the big price drops this season did -
Point taken about the internet. Anyways I do video work and appreciate JHAMM's work myself. But read back even he posted he wanted to see this release. Because as good as JHAMM's work is he knows and I know he is working with some really inferior sources sometimes. So it will just be nice to have a quality source show to watch. So it's really not comparable. PJ & RH also have tons of dedicated fans who do similar work as JHAMM for the band but the fans seem to realize the value of officially released DVDs by those bands and as mentioned before they have released a lot more than Wilco has.

Ummm my post wasn't really getting all up in arms or anything. But given all the responses kind of backs up my point of some members maybe needing to lighten up. As far as Radiohead goes. They have released the aforementioned Astoria DVD. They also just released a special around the time of In Rainbows release in High Def called- From the Basement. It was up on itunes and I'm sure they will be releasing a DVD of it sometime soon. In addition they have released Meeting People is Easy, which has a ton of live footage so that's borderline. This is awesome news. The fact that Wilco is such a noted live band and still has not had a proper long form concert DVD before now is simply mind boggling. It is even more unbelievable that anyone here is not psyched for this release. They needed to do this a long time ago but better late than never and I hope it's not their only concert DVD ever either. Some of you people need to lighten up. I don't hear Pearl Jam fans or Radiohead fans complain when they release a DVD and they have released plenty of them each. It's good to have this stuff when the day finally comes that Wilco don't tour
