  1. If there isn't a drummer named Ringo Starr playing on the drums, then it's nowhere near good enough to be considered a cover.
  2. It's "Caroline, No" Never do a Beach Boys song wrong, that's what I always say.
  3. I finally sent mine in, but it changed quite a bit right before I sent it in. I had forgot some of them jazz records... Top 20: 1. The Beatles - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band 2. The Beach Boys - Pet Sounds 3. Bob Dylan - Highway 61 Revisited 4. The Beatles - Revolver 5. The Beatles - Rubber Soul 6. Bob Dylan - Bringing It All Back Home 7. Uncle Tupelo - Anodyne 8. Miles Davis - Kind of Blue 9. John Coltrane - A Love Supreme 10. The Band - The Band 11. Wilco - Yankee Hotel Foxtrot 12. The Beatles - The Beatles 13. Neutral Milk Hotel - In the Aeroplane over the Sea 14. The Beatles -
  4. This record is mindblowing in its awesomeness.
  5. "I'd like to have an argument, please."
  6. Did anyone ever mention "Michelle" by the Beatles? I'd be surprised if it wasn't, but I just remembered it and how it actually won the Beatles a Grammy or two... and The Beach Boys - "Help Me Rhonda"
  7. Congrats! Thankfully he's not like , haha.
  8. Radiohead - 15 Step the Flying Burrito Brothers - Hot Burrito No. 1 the Flying Burrito Brothers - Hot Burrito No. 2
  9. Gogo Sherrod Brown, what a good man. In reference to the 15-senator list. There's a reason why I would have voted for him if I could have due to age.
  10. I don't think Beasely has the defensive skills either. He will put up 20-10 numbers for sure, but he may give up 20-10 numbers to the other player given his average to subpar defense, which certainly doesn't help a team win a game.
  11. You're Sixteen (You're Beautiful, You're Mine)
  12. http://youtube.com/watch?v=UoCZTSRvWuc Around the 00:15 mark you can hear Jeff start strumming, it's that low. Everything generally sounds terrible when the strings are that loose, but it's how it is. I think acoustics can handle it better due to their naturally thicker strings, but it's still hell to play on. The Jeff Tweedy solo I referred to also is here (mp3 via sendspace). This version is in some sort of Open D.
  13. It's presumably "un-American," mostly because America took the wrong path in the 1970s while Brasil took the right one.
  14. The Beatles: probably before I was born, but in cases I can remember my dad liked to hum Yesterday a lot. Bob Dylan: Sophomore year, I heard All Along the Watchtower for the first time. Wilco: Sophomore year, I was in a band and we were going to cover IATTBYH. I heard the track and I was iffy about it, but then I warmed up to it a little. I then received Being There for a birthday gift from a friend and have been hooked ever since.
  15. Which town? It'll be kind of sad (and it'll get sadder) if I know a. what town it is and b. if I actually know some of the people in the town and c. if I know someone there who already has a kid...
  16. . Peter Cook is so naturally funny it's probably what drove him away from a life of comedy...poor lad, his presence is sorely missed.
  17. I think I mentioned it before, but fuel derived from sugar is supposedly very effective, as I'm near certain that the Brazilians are using it and still have pretty cheap gas prices. Of course, the only way to begin doing this is by removing the sugar subsidies, but that's probably not going to happen anytime soon...
  18. Well, you don't have to get all ornery about that, it's just my opinion, which apparently isn't good enough.
  19. How is Spiderman 2 better than There Will Be Blood? Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon? Please, for real? I'm ok with the top 10 (though Lion King should be there instead of Toy Story, I think) but from there it's just a pile of junk. It's also unfortunate that A History of Violence didn't make it alongside the Princess Bride...
