John Mayer Trio is actually pretty good. I like to think John Mayer only creates subpar music on his own to fund the Trio's travails. -

Rick Danko is a badass. The Band and Music From Big Pink will stand tall as part of the top 15 albums of all time. Probably Top 10. -
Saying you "commit" to a school means almost nothing these days. I would like to se the Zookinator (the Vest is set for the QB spot) snatch one away from the Blue...just because it would be awesomely hilarious.

Oftentimes I hear Ted Greene's Chord Chemistry get brought up when it comes to that. -

Which is why you get someone like Wilco to make it sound good The core is there but ouch! -
All that matters is that one of our boys is coming back home from the Dark Side.

I am going to disagree. Modern Dylan is awesome sauce. Time Out of Mind-"Love & Theft"-Modern Times is Dylan's best trifecta since Bringing It All Back Home-Highway 61 Revisited-Blonde On Blonde Then again it probably isn't so heretical to say that. -
Guitar playing/songwriting rut

It allows you to play more complicated stuff, because drumming teaches you to move your hands independently, so translated onto the guitar it means you can play those kinds of passages with more dexterity, alongside improving your sense of rhythm. It was in a Guitar Player, I forget who said it, but I recall it wasn't a very well known guy at all (but he was playing an 8-string guitar in a prog/jazz/fusion/whatever outfit if I remember correctly, which would explain his relative anonymity). -
10 Most Annoying Singers

I agree forthwith with the list. And I hate the Gallaghers too...too bad they didn't make the list. Personally I dig Sam Beam's voice. It's whispery, yes, but I mean, can you see The Creek Drank The Cradle in a Scott Stapp voice? LI-YUN'S MANE-UH! -
Your kid better be doing this someday:

They look like an army of emos...almost. Stephen Bishop is one of the most underrated songwriters ever. -

If it weren't for Bono's work in pioneering the kurick, I would consider him a complete douche and inept post-Joshua Tree. -

Encountering Vista problems
Gobias Industries replied to Gobias Industries's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
Strangely enough I imported Music From Big Pink this morning without any problems. Now that I've given up on importing Joan Baez my computer has taken on more normal-like function. I just checked the Baez tracks that imported and apparently each one of them was 789:57 minutes long... -
Encountering Vista problems

I suppose the thing that is strangest about this is that until virtually less than 8 hours ago, Vista ran fairly smoothly for me...and after some research apparently only Business and Ultimate Vista owners can freely downgrade. I'm contemplating just adding a large portion of RAM to my computer. I suppose I should take the Aman cue and take my woes to my fellow woebearers. -
Encountering Vista problems

I ran the Antivirus yesterday and there were no viruses. No, the laptop came with Vista installed. It comes with 894MB RAM. I have not installed a 3rd party disk defrag program. I have just come to this realization too. I'm trying to import Joan Baez's vol.2 and it's taking absolutely forever =\ -
Ok, my laptop is developing some problems so I'm getting concerned...I run Vista Home Basic, if it makes any difference. First it occured that my Disk Defragmenter wouldn't load. I will go through the whole administrative approval tidbit (being the technical administrator of the computer), but the window simply doesn't pop up. Now it's been getting worse. My RAM is being used like a mofo (70+% RAM usage at least), and my computer has frozen on multiple occasions, even with non-crash-prone programs such as the Opera web browser. I did let the computer run the anti-spyware and antivirus

The Band - Chest Fever grooves like James Brown wished he did. -
First thing I have ever agreed with you 100% on. I've slaughtered a pair of Bennies due to wearing them for virtually 5 months straight and they're still hella comfortable.

Byrne and Eno to record and tour?
Gobias Industries replied to Oil Can Boyd's topic in Someone Else's Song
I won't buy this next album unless Byrne is wearing an absolutely ludicrous suit on the cover. -

Ringo is the most underrated album of all time. I am serious. It is killer good, and it can fence with the best of the the others' solo work. Eric Idle sings better than Nico. -
I guess I'm going to point out that that is Nels' Jaguar, not Jazzmaster.
