  1. There's a fake david fricke twitter, a lot of wilco/tweedy references https://twitter.com/FakeDavidFricke
  2. definitely one of the best records of the year, some of these songs are just so damn beautiful it kinda hurts.
  3. I was shocked when I read this news. After I read it, I told someone about it who doesn't even know much about Wilco, and I found myself getting choked up as I talked about it, I could barely talk. I didn't expect to feel that emotional about it since I did not know Jay in the slightest, never even saw Wilco live when he was in the band. But he played an important role in music that has been very important in my life, and I suppose it made me realize just how much every individual person associated with Wilco (and many other bands/artists) have touched me through the years with their music, an
  4. Yeah I saw them recently and they did the spiders transition in Never Gonna Change. I was getting kinda frustrated trying to figure out what it was, then it hit me it was Spiders. It was cool.
  5. It was a great show. I was right in the middle of the crowd, and everyone around me was cool. There were definitely some douches there, no question, and they deserved to be called out. However, I'm hardly shocked that a rock concert, where alcohol is served, in a college town would attract its fair share of assholes. Didn't ruin it for me, hopefully it didn't for the band. They seemed to enjoy themselves when it was all said and done.
  6. Neil's bullshit detector has always been iffy, but now its batteries are officially drained.
  7. Yeah man thanks for the explanation. I was a few people back and wasn't there the first night, and I had no idea what your shirt said or what was going on. It's pretty funny and glad to hear it was all in fun for both sides.
  8. This was a great show. It was interesting though, because I thought something was missing during the first few songs, I don't know, it just seemed slightly off to me compared to the other times I've seen the band. But then after a few songs, something just really clicked and it was a total 180 and it was fantastic, one of the most enjoyable shows I've been to really. The band looked like they were having a great time, especially Nels. After "what light" which opened the second set, it was all electric and just really rockin'. Other than the slight discomfort of being packed in like sardines, T
  9. How do back to back shows in the same city usually work as far as setlists go? I bought two tickets to the second show at Tip's. After Christmas, if tickets are still available for the first show, I'll strongly consider buying a couple to that one as well, but money's a slight issue as of now. But say that they play, oh i don't know, "war on war" or something on the first night, does that mean they probably will not play it the next night? I guess nobody knows for sure what they got up their sleeve, but how does it generally work? Thank ye.
  10. So it looks like a lot of folks watched the webcast. I was right up front for it and I think it was about the best damn show I've ever seen. I would say they were in rare form tonight, but maybe they've been this good every night recently? I don't know, but jesus it was great. Limited to an hour and half timeslot, but it didn't matter. Misunderstood War on War You Are My Face Side With The Seeds I Am Trying to Break Your Heart Handshake Drugs Shot in the Arm Impossible Germany Too Far Apart Heavy Metal Drummer Jesus, Etc Walken I'm the Man Who Loves You Hummingbird Hate it Here Red Eyed and
  11. My first Ryan Adams show. It was pretty great. They played for at least 2 1/2 hours. Kind of weird that you have to wonder what kind of mood he'll be in or whatever, but he seemed to be in a good mood last night. He should probably just ignore and totally not respond to folks screaming out requests, because, you know, it is a rock show, there will be rowdy folks in the crowd, but hey. He likened it to a game of bingo where someone is waiting for a certain number so much that they don't even enjoy themselves. But he had a sense of humor about it and didn't seem pissed. Whatever about that, it w
  12. I always liked how "Blowing It" went right into "I Live For That Look" on Dino Jr.'s "Green Mind." "Ring the Bell" into "Cross the Road, Molina" off Songs: Ohia's "Didn't It Rain" is quite cool too.
  13. "saddle up the palomino" by neil young...it kinda blows but hey
  14. monday and outtasite on regular rock radio back in 96/97 hmd and shot in the arm on college radio
  15. one big holiday i will sing you songs the way that he sings
  16. I have to admit that I've never made an effort to check this band out simply because I despise their band name. Probably stupid, but true.
  17. I didn't see anybody recording, but that doesn't mean there wasn't anybody who was. The talkers were annoying, but for some reason I didn't get that pissed at them. Probably because I think Jeff handled them in a pretty lighthearted kind of way; he made it clear they were annoying but he kept the mood pretty light/funny.
  18. Yeah I agree, I figured the nature of the venue was why he didn't play any new songs. Pecan Pie was definitely a pretty coo' treat anyhow.
  19. I was a little surprised that he didn't play any new songs, but I'm not complaining.
  20. I was blown away by this show. Seen Wilco twice, excellent both times, and this show, to me, was on par with either of those shows as far as overall enjoyment goes. Lotta fun...
