  1. Methinks that you'll amend your pre-sale strategy in a future age. Is there an icon for ducking? Forgive a smartass? See you there!
  2. Thanks! That makes me feel better. In these Wilbroker times, I feel damned fortunate to have row k seats for 2 shows. Bless my pre-sale luck. When the C-water hhs came up, for a moment I was all 'WHOOT!!' then I remembered that jj is the back row in that venue!
  3. Things is crazy! I started trying for Clearwater tickets at 11:58 AM, 2 minutes before noon (I was happy), and it said 'tickets are unavailable' over and over until 12:03 when I was able to purchase 2 in row hh. I let them go because at Ruth Eckerd, that isn't the pit. It's 2 rows from the back wall! I am happy with my 2 row k from the pre-sale. Brokers must be scarfing up the tix. Unfortunately, work internet was down until 11:30 so no Durham for us. Only Clearwater and Atlanta. Pooh!
  4. Hey! I want my propers. My tree of knowledge 'beared' a definition is a definition apples about the same time as Cryptique's.
  5. But are you a fucking professional writer and editor? That would be even closer.
  6. According to the definition of prolific, you would be wrong. If the apple tree actually produced rotten and sour fruit, then it must have been bred to do that. We had some sour orange trees on our citrus grove when I was a lad but I don't think that it's possible to have a hybrid that produces fruit that are already rotten. They would have to ripen and then rot.
  7. Due to this thread, I have spent a ridiculously wasteful amount of time looking at several definitions of prolific to make sure that my definition of prolific was the definition of prolific. None of them said anything about quality of what was produced. The definitions only varied in synonyms for quantity. Prolific is prolific. I love the internet. Not really.
  8. Matt, I am excited because I would prefer them to never have an opening act. I want as much live Wilco performing as many songs as I can get. That is why I was excited to see the Royal Oak show. It wasn't necessarily the best Wilco show that I have ever seen, but it definitely had the most songs.
  9. Okay. It just struck me as funny. I regret starting the thread. I should just delete it. The article does state this, though: "According to the Nový čas daily, Gonda could sue Slovak police and ask for non-material damage, but he is not gong to do that, according to his wife.".
  10. Thanks for posting. I am really looking forward to this, as will my wife when I tell her about it.
  11. Speed, I should have titled it '... AVERAGE American', of which most VCers are not! If he were an American, especially if it were an American airline, police force, etc., and did not at least threaten litigation, I would be stunned. I believe that most of us here in the land of 1-800-ASK-GARY/I want a payday (and I don't mean peanutty nougat) would see dollar signs. I hope that I wouldn't. I'd be happy with an apology and a nice Slovak vacation!

  13. They are all sold during pre-sale. You are S-O-L, my friend. No seriously, it is 10% of the venue.
  14. Yay! You know that I'll be trying on Friday too! As Steve Earle said, "I ain't ever satisfied"! You tossed back F? Damn, yopu don't play!!
  15. Do you mean it or did you just say that because it sounds Wilcool?
  16. Dang. It would have been good to see you again. Why no ATL? The Fox is fantastic plus you'll miss The Grifter and BabyDoll,as Ben and his wife are the reason for 4. I almost told him "NO! Get your own pair. You'll muck up my seats!". I'm too nice of a guy.
  17. 4 at the ATL Fox left center orchestra row k and 2 at Ruth Eckerd in Clearwater dead center row k. I was too late for Durham, so I'll try again at Ticketmaster. My good streak continues. I can't complain. I was worried about going for 4 in the ATL. I wonder what 2 would have wrought? I'm a greedy bastard!! The 'Evening With Wilco' in Royal Oak back in July was excellent. I'm expecting these to be even better what with the planning. Enjoy, ya'll.
  18. The above is what I meant by 'ah memories'. This quote bears (re)repeating: "These were the centers of musical life in towns.".
  19. I definitely buy less CDs these days. Hell, I buy less music these days. Downloads have surpassed CDs for me. I still buy CDs (or get them as gifts) but downloads win by maybe a 2 to 1, probably 3 to 1, ratio. To be honest, at least half of the downloads are priceless, meaning that I don't pay a price for them. Someone gives me files via data disc or email/megaupload-esque methods. As far as back up concerns, a few months ago I lost it all. 11,000 songs on the hard drive. Some of these files did not have a physical CD in my hugeCd furniture like the photo above. I simply bought a external h
  20. I have heard Alice's Restaurant but not in 25-30 years. Regardless of the connection to the song 'father-raper' struck me as a previously unheard of deviant behavior. This makes sense on it's own. Yes. One of the volunteers at the community radio station here plays it every Thanksgiving. I am thankful that I have other things to do during that time.
  21. Be that as it may, it is still a new one on me. Sick.
  22. Whoa! Just when you think that there is nothing new under the sun, you learn. I had never heard of 'father rape'. I loved my dad and am thankful for the fond memories but if I had forced myself on him... That has to be a small minority that are into that scene.
  23. Many threads bring to mind Styx - the band, not the river (though I can see that connection being made). This is one of them.
  24. Jaysus, which thread are you talking about? Not enough information to tell.
  25. This will sound radical I know but folks could also save themselves from Lance and themselves by not reading the posts.
