  1. Yes. its a kicker alright.
  2. i'm willing to bet that isn't nearly as nice as a candygram...
  3. Well, just don't leave your pick-in-ick basket out where the bears can get them. They're dumb animals but they always seem to get the pick-in-ick basket by the time the episode is over. edit: i immediately thought of FZ when i read this thread.
  4. I do not believe there is any such thing as change, as the candidates would have you believe. I just don't think it is possible.
  5. Red Sox fans have been filling other stadiums since before 2004, though. Sure there's plenty of bandwagoning, but there is no denying that there are red sox fans all across the country. I'm watching the game on EI and the Reds announcers mention that the Cubs fans do the same thing. But no one calls them out on it. And Yankees fans fill Camden every time the Yankees play the Orioles, enough so that in the stadium swag shop there is Yankees stuff in there for sale and the usher at Camden said that the Yankee fans aren't nearly as polite as the Red Sox fans. PS one of the Red's announcers has
  6. I am always curious as to why it is somehow the bad, or unethical of red sox fans for "taking over" other ballparks. Is it possible that Reds fans, or Rays fans, or Orioles fans simply don't exist in the same kind of number, or somehow don't care enough, which is what makes it possible for sox fans to buy tickets? I mean WTF? You don't want GABP full of red sox fans--then buy the f*cking tickets when they go on sale so we can't get access. Do you also think that Wilco fans from San Francisco shouldn't be able to go to shows in Chicago, or St Louis?
  7. this is the only one i can agree with you on. I'll add: Roman Holiday, Beaches, Sea Biscuit, and Steel Magnolias and any film where a dog dies at the end wipes me right out.
  8. I just watched the Meet The Press special event. Very moving. He truly will be missed, not just by the politicos, but by friends and interns and producers and all the people he worked and interacted with every day. Who will fill the void, politically, I wonder?
  9. I was on a conference call with someone from Des Moines yesterday. She said that "we ain't seen nothing yet" with this flooding....So major sand bag vibes to everyone out there.
  10. I think she's getting ready to move maybe? and working and doing baby stuff. we "facebooked" last week, i think.
  11. I was at a party last night and I saw a woman with the name tag of "Lyric" and she was very pretty AND she was an environmental champion, so i think that bodes well for our little Lyric.
  12. I saw fireflies this evening in DC and I'm pretty sure they were little manifestations of vibes meant to send out to you people. Consider it done.
  13. back vives for everyone! WW: glad to see that you're getting some straight talk from your doctor. I am much relieved now. Now go get the big needle.
  14. Did you really just say "overrated?" Edit: this is Arod.
  15. Let me log in from the office tomorrow and i'll tell you which OS (Leopard, i think) I"m running. One of the beefs I have with this computer is that the IT guy who is the ED's husband has put a lock on it so i can't download anything, like the blackberry syncing program. We have something on the computer via mac.com that allows us to somehow remotely access files and such but i tried to load "Log me in" which is what ben uses at his work and of course, I needed the admin password to run it. Grrrrr
  16. it is leafy greens that suck up the lead, btw, especially spinach. I don't know about rooty veggies. Probably. But not peppers or tomatoes or squash or cukes...
  17. In my opinion, wedding gifts are meant to be lasting momentos of the day, maybe to be handed down to children or other important people in the couple's lives, so I'm not a fan of the theatre subs or the weekend trips or anything that gets "used up." Some ideas: a beautiful mirror or piece of art a gift certificate at a nice frame shop so they can get something (like a wedding photo or a wilco poster) framed professionally a really really nice vase or crystal bowl a small piece of sculpture that reflects the couple something of yours that you want them to have, like perhaps a photograph you
  18. See? He's a dirtdog if I ever saw one. He's my new favorite scrapper.
  19. i guess i am used to outlook, where my address book and my calendar are all right there, and i can get an invitatation in my email and add it to my calendar RIGHT THEN AND THERE. Can i do that with mail.app, iCal and Address Book? I can't import any of my data from my PC into those programs, though, which is kind of a pain in the ass. Between the two computers at home and the blackberry, and now a mac at work, i really need for all my contacts and data to be in one place, and I can't believe that one place is gonna be google. i will read up on them, It has been 10 years since i had a mac...
