frankly, i think andrew bird is one of the most creative and innovative musicians around right now. his last three albums have all be very good and the last two have been hands down some of the greatest albums in that time period, and frankly beyond it as well.

yeah my preorder of it showed up to my fiancee's bookstore (she runs it for her mom who owns it) ten days early. i'm now about 1/2 way through it and i'm enjoying it quite a bit. his writing is different in it, but it is obviously to fit the story, and i love the characters and setting.

i've been digging the song quite a bit, and the new QOTSA song is sick (no pun intended) as well. can't wait for june!

hey, this worked last fall when trying to find who was opening for The Killers. i'm seeing Kings Of Leon next thursday with my fiancee and i can't find anything saying who is opening. anybody out there in vc-land have an idea? thanks, me.

i may have missed it being said, but Bob Dylan's "Wedding Song" is tailor-made. lots o' folks getting hitched. i'm getting married myself on may 11. we are frustrating my family by being completely vague about what we are doing, granted we aren't doing much. going lowkey, having a bbq afterward. eventually having a party up in portland since that where most of our friends are.

i like some of rushdie's stuff, but i thought that book was a piece of crap. i didn't even finish it. but that's just me. now reading:

If You're Feeling Sinister, The Boy With The Arab Strap and Dear Catastrophe Waitress. DCW maybe the one i listen to the most, but honestly everything is gold... i'd be happy to send you some of the ep tracks and stuff, as well, so you don't have to worry about those at this stage of getting into them....

that's one of those albums that feels like it was speaking what's inside my head. it blows me away each time i hear it, and holds a very special place in my audiophile heart

i agree. i love the new one, but it doesn't have some of the same kick as Eggs did for me.
