Kotche - live crickets on stage?
Nonlinear Nonfiction replied to Nonlinear Nonfiction's topic in Just A Fan
I had a few pet chameleons once and they eat live crickets. Well, I got sick of going to the pet store every week to buy a dozen crickets so I ordered online 500 crickets and decided I would try to breed them. Those poor suckers came in a styrofoam cup (maybe about 52 oz.) jampacked...about a third had died presumabely on the trip. Anyways, as my dad and I - a couple of real geniuses - opened the container in our patio and tried to dump the chirpers into a small aquarium, quite a few started jumping all over the house, made their way into the kitchen and eventually took shelter in the basement -

[edit] no one answered, the office closed ten minutes ago. will check tomorrow!

Well, that's between you and the photographer.

I love collecting Wilco posters and I'm trying to track this one down for you but sometimes they just can't be bought. If you're looking for a nice piece of memorabelia from the concert though, I found this great photo that you may be able to order a print of from the photographer: WILCO - Agganis Arena, Cambridge, Ma. 2005 by Dave Foster

Johnny Cash's cover of "Hurt" by Nine Inch Nails. Especially with the music video in mind. -
Ever wonder about some of the sounds coming out of Glenn's drum kit during his solo performances? From the Nashville Scene's blog "Nashville Cream" :

I doubt anyone will post that here, maybe a live version if you're lucky. Maybe I'm wrong, but official releases aren't really meant to be traded here. But really, Chelsea Walls is worth the 10 bucks...or 5 at a used CD store. -
I'll get in on this... Just got a new camera before driving to Miami (from Minnesota!)... Here's the first round of my adventures with my Canon Rebel xTi South Beach South Beach The United States Pond Hockey Championship...yes, that is a real thing. Waldo. That's too bad because this has been an amazing year of live shows to listen to.

I got these from BT as well, and loved them...and I'm the one who put them on Oink, however they deleted the torrent and gave me a warning because they have a rule against "multi-album" torrents....Load of crap if you ask me considering this isn't an album! I left the torrent seeding for you guys though, assuming whoever was downloading was either a fellow VCer or at least a big enough fan to appreciate the recordings.

I think it is one of the most poetic representations of hunger that I have ever heard anyone convey musically. Love can solve anything but a man's apetite.

Beautiful! both of them. I've heard a lot of mashups and found that I either HATE or LOVE them, they either work or they dont, they either stink or they eminate a lovely scent of roses. These were two of the best single mashup tracks I've ever heard. The pieces worked well and the DJs used the different parts of each song to compliment each other very nicely. At first I was thinking - I only like this because I love Wilco and I love the Beach Boys but then I realized that my strong feelings for those bands probably made me a tougher critic, not an easier one! Bravo.
-
The best two mashups in my opinion: 1) Night Ripper - Girl Talk 2) American Edit - Dean Grey

I've spend a while looking for this and only discovered the name of the track to be "YOU STILL BELIEVE IN TRYING TO BREAK YOUR HEART" Found it on a broken link that turned up in a google search. I hope someone puts this up, I'm bored!

A friend of mine just downloaded the first five episodes and I watched the first one... what has this world come to? I won't spoil it for any of you but I'll just say this... Jack certainly has a taste for blood!

It's probably a one hour battery life if you're talking on the cell phone, too. -

I'm in need of a new iPod and I really wish they had a cheaper version without the phone built in. a) I don't want to switch service providers, b ) probably don't have the money for the whole thing but really want a widescreen/touch screen ipod and c) I really want a widescreen/touch screen ipod. The wireless internet is awesome and I'd pay extra for that feature but the phone thing, if its limited to Cingular (and excludes Verizon - my network) I'm just going to have to pass - very sadly. Let's not turn this thread into a Verizon vs. Cingular debate, either... -

Yeah, I was thinking how amazing it is especially compared to the windows mobile crap I've used before. Did anyone notice the note at the bottom of the screen: "This device has not been authorized as required by the rules of the Federal Communications Commission. This device is not, and may not be, offered for sale or lease, or sold or leased, until authorization is obtained." Interesting...haha
