This is the first thing I thought of when I saw the cover :
there will be tables and chairsthere'll be pony rides and dancing bears
there'll even be a band
Camel rides. Brilliant. But apparently, the band split.

Oh, I know. I was nervous as a cat all evening. And i had a conference call back home at 9, so I was sweating that too. So I snuck out at about 10 till and got all set up, and BAM! row CC in the pit! The internet generally behaves fine here, but you never know.
I saw the last show at the Aranoff, and was about in the 5th row (non-pit), which were great seats. Row B will be great.
Here in China for two weeks; one down, one to go. Fascinating as always. A little trouble sleeping...

I starting pinging it around 955, and got in before 10. Got third row pit dead center. I was shocked, but in a good kind of way. Actually still shocked. I am in China, so I was worried that I would be somehow identified to be a bot or something. Maybe I got the coveted "Asian Allocation".

Damn... I wonder what the odds are of a St. Louis show or something between Cincinnatti and Oklahoma City
They have that Bonnaroo thingie on the 13th between the 12th in Cinci and the 15th in OKC. Sorry.
But WOO-HOO for the Cinci show ! !

I think most albums* work best when heard all the way through, but maybe that's just me.
* Most that I would bother to own, anyway. Britney Spears albums, for example, don't qualify.
Absolutely! Pretty much all my listening involves listening to the whole record/CD.Growing up in an era of LPs and cassettes, where we tended to slap it on and only touch it when it had to be flipped probably shaped my listening habits somewhat
.
Same here. I've never used the shuffle thingie on my ipod.
I blame it on 8-tracks. I could probably still tell you where the "cluh-chunks" were in Pink Floyd's The Wall...

I'm on disc 1 of night 3 of the residency. I have all 5 nights, and I'll cycle through all of them in the car every now and then.

So, is it "Cahl - uh - PAHR -ee" (rhymes with Italian squid calimari).
or is it "Cal - uh - PAIR - ee" (kinda like a partridge in a pear tree)... ?
We'll need to know that. Not that we'll say it right, mind you. We pronounce the city in the next county "Vur -sales" (Versailles).

Dear Mr. Tweedy (aka "ChooChooChuck"),
Your little ploy has fooled no one here at VC. Obviously this thread was a thinly veiled attempt to gauge popular support for Mr. Sansone as you contemplate who's next on your list of alleged malcontents to fire from the band. Let the record show that the outcry of compassion and support for our beloved Pat has proven to be heartfelt and widespread. We, the people of VC, have spoken, and we shall tolerate no more of this nonsense.
There will be no lineup changes for the foreseeable future. Now go back to the loft and play nice with the other boys.
Sincerely,
tas

Sooie, what's your take on that ... are we being too paranoid?

Lets say he is clean. Only way I can see this is that he tells the high level recruits that if they are one and done that's fine with him? Some schools would shy away from this. I thin

Memphis Commercial-Appeal is now reporting that Memphis has granted permission to Kentucky to talk to John Calipari about its head coaching position.University of Memphis athletic director R.C. Johnson released a statement that said he had been contacted by Kentucky AD Mitch Barnhardt and has granted Barnhardt permission to talk to Calipari about the coaching vacancy."We have given Kentucky permission to talk with John (Calipari) about their position," Johnson said in the statement. "However, I will tell you that we are elated with the job John has done as our head coach and we will do everything in our power to retain his services at Memphis."
The way this has worked in the past few years, is that this is the final piece of the puzzle. Minnesota didn't actually ask for permission to talk to Tubby Smith until it had received assurances that Smith would take the job if offered. Guessing it's the same thing here.
