  1. I hope they play 'Let's Fight" from the SBS demos. It just would not be cool to have them play a song on Letterman from an album that is being released the same day because us wilco fans have been listening to the stream for 2 months now and we know all the songs on the album so well. I for one would not be happy with any of the 12 tracks on the album proper.
  2. Where I certainly appreciate all the die hards on this site and at the show last night, I am underwhelmed by the "gentleman's club" attitudes that seem to persist. I go to a Jeff Tweedy / Wilco show to have an enjoyable night, not to see how many rare/random songs he can play. And being that last night was a request show, and that the majority of people who stood in line all day are the die hards, I felt the show had too many "lets make him play a song that only 10 of us will enjoy" moments. (even though I am among those 10) Almost every song Jeff plays solo sounds different than on the al
  3. I am fairly certain yesterdays podcast came so those who wanted, could watch the NCAA championship game without listening to the intolerable Billy Packer. I had been racking my brain for the perfect antidote, and SBS was the answer. I applaud the Packer hating basketball fan in the Wilco camp who came up with this brilliant plan.
  4. Beck is a great musician but a step 3 or 4 steps below Wilco if you take everything into account. Radiohead is a great band but they are not nearly as freindly and accessible as Wilco Jack White is a Lennon type god, but I go to see him, not his "sister" or Nashville buddies The Arcade Fire has put out 1 good album and 1 good EP (excuse me for not getting through the new album yet) so for longevity purposes, can not touch Wilco. Those would be 2-5 on my list, but much like the debate about the greatest basketball player ever, there is no question as to #1.
  5. All hail Jeff Tweedy, King of the mid-tempo rock album. His words not mine, but so true. I found this album to be right in line with the progression of Wilco. The feel was exactly what Impossible Germany and Walken suggested it would be way back last summer. It was written by a genius who no longer has demons surrounding his entire life, but one who enjoys watching his kids grow up, hanging out with his wife, and writing music. This made for a wonderful evening. I sat with a smile on my face all night. Thank you Wilco for everything.
  6. I heard "Can't Stand It" in an NBC World News Report on the fragmentation of television viewing due to new technologies. When they flashed an IPod, they played 4 notes from Can't Stand It. I could have named the tune in 1 note.
